Dosist Pen Vape Review – The magic marker
Available in legal states, the Dosist Pen is a disposable concentrates pen which makes the entire experience as streamlined as possible. With interchangeable formulas, dead simple operation and impressive results, it seems to be a great pick or is it? How does it compare to other similar oil pens like the Stiizy or Era? Check out what we have to say about the Dosist and how it performs in this review!
Review: Dosist pen
How it Works
Once you have the pen set up with your chosen cartridge, its all an incredibly simple process. Just inhale from the unit until it vibrates to let you know when to stop! Each dose gives 2.25mg without any more.
The company themselves recommends a maximum of three hits every hour, however how much you need can all depend on your own usage habits, tolerance, and desired effects.
Temperature Flexibility
Unlike the Yocan Uni Pro that offers complete voltage control, the Dosist doesnt exactly have any temperature flexibility to speak of its all pre-configured.
Were sure the company has specifically tailored the output power to give the best experience possible from the created formulas.
Vapor Quality
This little pen is surprising – it delivers smooth, powerful, flavorful draws. It definitely performs like advertised and we dont have any real complaints. Of course, a full sized wax vaporizer or rig will get you much more powerful results; however, they dont have the convenience this little unit has.
A lot of the flavor greatly depends on the blend that you choose. There are different ratios, flavor profiles, etc. There are blends for a wide variety of uses, so the options are quite broad! Overall though, the Dosist performs quite well and we have no complaints out of it especially for the size! However, users looking for a unit with more versatile options usually tend to prefer the Yocan Uni Pro that offers LED display and complete voltage control.
Manufacturing Quality
For lack of a better comparison, the Dosist looks a bit like a pregnancy test combined with a whiteboard marker. That doesnt mean its bad by any means. In fact, the whole unit feels very sturdy and well made. It delivers great results and works flawlessly every time.
We particularly like their battery recycling program. With each empty unit thats returned, youll get $5 credit towards your next purchase. This is also really nice to see since li-ion batteries are hugely damaging to the environment when disposed of improperly and its a good step forward. Users who are interested in 510 thread cartridges for oil often prefer the Tronian Pitron.
Battery Life
The battery is meant to last for around 200 doses, or 4 whole refills. This isnt bad at all, however for most people, that wont last very long at all.
It is what it is a disposable vape battery. It isnt rechargeable like some other disposable cartomizer systems. Users looking for a device that is rechargeable usually tend to prefer units like the Smok Micare.
Portability
With its tiny form factor similar to the Linx Hermes 3, it makes a great travel companion. It slips well into the pocket and takes up a negligible amount of space. Its spill-proof too and wont leak into your pocket.
Ease of Use
The Dosist hits the simple to use category right on the button like any other oil pen such as the CCELL Silo. Being able to precisely dose the exact amount that you want with a simple yet intuitive feedback system makes it hands down the easiest device weve ever tried.
For medical patients or very casual consumers, theres really not much thats as easy as the Dosist to use. Cleaning is also not required as its a disposable system.
Discreetness
As its so tiny and appears slightly like a whiteboard marker, taking a quick hit and putting it away again takes no time at all. As theyre only available in legal states, stealth isnt really a factor to consider anyways. Users that prefer to use box mods with 510 cartridges usually tend to opt for devices such as the Tronian Nutron.
Overall Experience
We really like the Dosist for a variety of reasons. The flavor is on point and it just works as intended. With that being said, the price is extremely high for what you really get. For the majority of casual consumers and those who arent too adept at technology, the Dosist will be fine.
For more serious enthusiasts who like modifying or more versatility, its much better to look elsewhere. Not because the performance of the Dosist is bad at all, but since its so extremely expensive compared to other options, youll be much better off with a different device.
