The reason is that since the unit is so small, the water percolation will definitely splash into your face if you don’t have the top on. While this isn’t a huge deal, considering this unit doesn’t have the best flavor preservation anyway, the use of silicone will still be noticeable in the flavor.

The Mini does have a USB-C, though, which makes charging it much quicker and smoother since you won’t have to take an extra cable with you like you have to with the Unicorn 2.0. That said, the amount of power these units use is pretty much the same due to the chamber not really changing at all.
