How it works

The Starry 4 vaporizer is very easy to use and operate thanks to its OLED Digital Display and simple buttons. To operate the Starry 4 Vaporizer, follow these steps:

• Step 1: Charge the device using the USB-C cable until the battery indicator shows four bars.
• Step 2: Remove the magnetic mouthpiece by pulling it off the chamber.
• Step 3: Fill the chamber with your herb or use the dosing capsule. 
• Step 4: Attach the mouthpiece back to the device by aligning it with the magnetic connection.
• Step 5: Press the power button three times quickly to turn on the device. The display will show the current temperature and battery level.
• Step 6: Use the up and down buttons to select your desired temperature from 212°F to 464°F in one-degree increments. The device will start heating up automatically.
• Step 7: Wait 15 seconds until the device vibrates and reaches your set temperature. 
• Step 8: Draw slowly and steadily from the mouthpiece. 

Temperature Flexibility

One of the main features of this Budget Friendly Dry Herb Vaporizer is its temperature flexibility. You can choose any temperature between 212°F and 464°F in one-degree increments, giving you some control over your session experience. Different temperatures will produce different effects, flavors, and sensations from your dry herb.

Lower temperatures (212°F-320°F) will produce more flavorful and smoother vapor but less dense and potent. These temperatures are good for extracting the flavor from your Herb. Depending on your mood, preference, and tolerance, you can experiment with different temperatures to find your sweet spot. However, you may not get consistent results, as the device may struggle to maintain those temperatures consistently.

Vapor Quality 

The Starry 4 vaporizer has some important features regarding its vapor quality. It’s decent for most Dry Herb users but might not fully meet your expectations if you’re into high-quality vapor. 

The ceramic heating chamber uses conduction heating which produces large amounts of vapor but is not the most flavorful. We would have liked to see this update bring a hybrid heating style similar to the Tronian Milatro n, which employs a mix of convection and conduction for more flavorful hits and was therefore labeled the Budget Beast.

The ceramic mouthpiece is nice for comfortable inhaling but could make the flavor less noticeable as it is lined with silicone, which is not good for taste. XMAX added A nice feature to this version: the adjustable airflow switch to control how much air is inhaled. Adding more airflow might also affect the temperature and vapor taste. Just remember, adjusting the airflow might mean you need to change the temperature too.

This device can also work with water pipe adapters, which make the vapor smoother and cleaner by filtering it more, but not all water pipes will fit. It does, however, work very well with the Zeus Iceborn, which is a pretty cool device to have if you are into vapor enhancement devices. The Starry 4 also comes with a concentrate pad, so you can use concentrates, although it’s not as good as a dedicated Wax Pen that would produce better vapor.

Manufacturing Quality

The Starry 4 vaporizer is built quite decently, considering its price. It’s covered in tough metal that feels nice and protects it from drops. The design is slim and easy to hold, fitting well in your hand or pocket. 

The Zirconia mouthpiece connects with magnets and helps keep your flavor pure. But, with that said, its important to note that although the mouthpiece is made from good material, the vapor path does come in contact with silicone, resulting in a slight silicone taste.

Inside, there’s a ceramic chamber that heats your herb using conduction heating. The display shows important information during your session. It charges quickly thanks to its USB-C port, which is great for when you’re busy. The battery is removable (18650 2550 mAh), so you can use it for a long time and change it when needed. The Starry 4 also allows for passthrough charging if your device is on, meaning you can simply plug it in while it heats up.

Overall, this Portable Vaporizer delivers average performance, portability, and convenience, making it a decent choice for beginners or those with a tight budget. Ease of Use

Using the Starry 4 vaporizer is pretty easy, though it might take some testing to find your preferred settings. It uses 2 buttons to sift through a temperature range and a separate button that will turn your device on or off. Similar to the Utillian 620.

The Starry 4.0 comes with a dosing capsule for easier loading and cleaning. But remember, using the capsule might slightly reduce the chamber size and airflow. For those wanting to vaporize concentrates, use the pad that comes with the unit. Keep in mind it won’t provide as much vapor or taste as a dedicated Wax Vaporizer. 

For a smoother session, make sure your herb is loose but still packed in there. You can flip the airflow switch to find how you like the draw, and if you need to, change the temperature too.

The Starry 4 vaporizer is easy to travel with, but it has some limits and downsides that can affect how portable it is. Let’s talk about the portability features:

Now let’s talk about the updated screen, which provides more detail than the previous version. The V4 shows your set temperature, current temperature, session time, and battery level. The screen can turn upside down to read better from different angles, making it easier to glance at while traveling.

Discreetness

The Starry 4 vaporizer is a low-profile device. It’s designed in black and sleek enough not to draw too much attention. The Starry 4 has a stealth mode that turns off the lights and displays for extra discretion.

Still, it’s got a ceramic heating chamber, a digital display, a removable 18650 battery, and a USB-C port for charging. This affordable device is easy to use and works for those new to the vaporizing space or those on a budget. 

Regarding its vapor output quality, the Zirconia mouthpiece is nice, but your vapor does come in contact with silicone. The famous silicone taste attributed to cheaper devices is a slight issue with this device, especially if you try to go for back-to-back sessions, but make sure you check out the ranking of the Top Budget Vaporizer so you see your other options as well. 

The truth is, it’s extremely difficult to provide a budget device that does not include silicone. The Zeus Arc S comes to mind, which replaces its silicone with gold plates for the purest possible flavor.  

As a final note, I would recommend this device to those on a budget searching for a Dry Herb vaporizer that can travel with you safely and discreetly. Just don’t expect the highest vapor quality.
