You Should Buy the DaVinci EQ If…

You're looking for a high-quality e-rig that's technologically advanced but still simple to live with. The EQ focuses heavily on flavor, and pairs that with a range of customization options in both the software and the modular physical design. Between the different heater crucibles and the reprogrammable smart heating curves, users can adjust the hardware and the software to dial in their specific session. It's a step into the newer tech age of e-rig vaporization, built for someone who wants that level of control without the setup getting complicated.

Prominent Features

The EQ's standout feature is the Jacuzzi Bubbler. It filters vapor through water to cool each draw before it reaches you, and its glass construction keeps the session visible throughout.

At the core is the all-quartz vapor path. This refers primarily to the crucible in the heater, where the concentrate sits, while the remaining surfaces the vapor passes through are glass and zirconia. All three are high-quality, inert materials, so nothing in the path affects the flavor.

Control runs through a full-color touchscreen, a rare feature in the e-rig category. An optional app is available, but the device's native controls are sophisticated on their own. Users can choose between Precision Temperature Mode for a fixed temperature or Smart Path heating curves that climb through a range across the session.

A 6000mAh battery powers the device, delivering plenty of sessions between charges.

How It Works

The EQ uses a touchscreen display with multiple settings to adjust your session results. To start generating vapor, follow these simple steps:

  • Remove the bubbler from the base and fill it with water to about halfway, then reattach it to the base.
  • Open the zirconia cap and load your concentrate into the quartz crucible.
  • Click the Button 5 times to power on.
  • Swipe the touchscreen to the left once to see and set the desired temperature.
  • Press and hold the button for 2 seconds to start the heating cycle.
  • Wait for the LEDs to turn green, then inhale through the mouthpiece (use the joystick while inhaling).

Pro Tips:

  • The Davinci EQ also works with smart paths, which use software calibration to manage your heat curve and gradually increase temperature for specific vapor results.
  • To access the smart paths, you will need to swipe left once more from the temperature management screen. Then simply choose the smart path by swiping up or down to the correct option on the screen.
  • You can also extend your session timer by 20 seconds by clicking the button during the 45-second window after the unit indicates it has reached its temperature.

Vapor Quality

Vapor quality on the EQ is great, and part of that is its special focus on ensuring all materials in the vapor path are inert and high quality. The main path is quartz, glass, and zirconia from the crucible to your lips, which greatly increases the chances that your vapor will be pure from start to finish.

The Jacuzzi Bubbler builds on that. 60ml of water is a large chamber for a device this size, and running the vapor through it cools and filters every draw before it reaches the mouthpiece, so the harder-hitting temperatures come through smooth instead of harsh.

Where you set the temperature changes the result more than on most devices. Because the unit is quartz-based and heats from the bottom instead of multiple sides, it rewards larger dabs and slower, steadier pulls.

The level of customization makes it easier to experiment and find the right setting for your use. Flavor is generally what this unit does best, but it can produce dense output when pushed to higher temperatures.

Portability and Discreetness

The EQ isn't a pocket device. At 520g with a glass bubbler on top, it's built for a table rather than a jacket, so portability here means moving it between rooms or taking it somewhere, not carrying it on you.

For that, it comes with a smell-resistant travel case with dividers that hold the base, bubbler, and accessories together in one place. Just empty the bubbler before packing it, since it holds water.

Day to day, the EQ is straightforward to use. The touchscreen and single Command Button handle everything, so there's no complicated setup before a session.

Manufacturing Quality

The base is brushed aluminum, which gives the EQ real weight and a solid feel on a table. All the electronics, both batteries, and the touchscreen live inside that housing. This also makes the base bottom heavy.

The crucible is quartz, the carb cap and mouthpiece are zirconia, and the bubbler is borosilicate glass. Zirconia is a dense ceramic that handles heat cycling without cracking and stays inert, which is why it's used for the two parts that touch your lips and the crucible directly.

The bubbler and mouthpiece both twist off rather than screwing on, and the heater connects to the base through electrical contacts that flash green when seated correctly.

Overall, the build quality is strong and full of premium materials.

Temperature Flexibility

The EQ runs two different temperature systems, and each system provides unique benefits.

Precision Temperature Mode holds one temperature for the entire session, anywhere from 300°F to 650°F (149-343°C). Swipe up or down on the touchscreen to set it. This is the mode for repeatability. It's also a great mode to use if you are a veteran that knows exactly how to dial in your temperature based on the type of vapor output you want.

Smart Path Mode climbs through a range instead of holding steady, which sustains vapor production as the dab depletes. This mode is best for the type of user who wants a general framework but does not want to dial in a specific temperature through experimentation. The Smart path includes 4 default ranges:

  • Terpene: 480-500°F (249-260°C)
  • Flavor: 520-540°F (271-282°C)
  • Clouds: 560-580°F (293-304°C)
  • Atomic: 600-620°F (317-327°C)

All four are fully reprogrammable. You can change the temperature range, adjust the duration, and rename them from the settings menu, so the presets are a starting point rather than a fixed set. That also means you can build a lower path for herb rather than being stuck with the four concentrate defaults.

The Control Screen tracks the session live, showing your set temperature, the actual temperature per draw, and time remaining. Session length is adjustable up to 90 seconds as a base, and everything is switchable between °F and °C.

How to Clean the DaVinci EQ

The EQ comes apart into a few pieces, and each one gets cleaned differently. The crucible is easiest to swab while still slightly warm, and the bubbler needs a real soak rather than a wipe.

Here's a step-by-step guide to keep the Davinci EQ clean after a session:

  • Detach the bubbler from the base and discard the water.
  • Clean the crucible with an alcohol-dipped cotton swab.
  • Once cool, wipe the crucible exterior and the underside of the carb cap with an alcohol wipe.
  • Clean the zirconia mouthpiece with an alcohol swab or wipe.
  • Once all parts are dry, run a heat cycle at max temperature to ensure all alcohol has evaporated.

Pro Tips for Cleaning: For a deep clean on the bubbler, add isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt, then seal it in a bag and let it soak, the salt does the scrubbing you can't reach by hand. If there's hard water scale, distilled vinegar dissolves the mineral buildup. Flush thoroughly with clean water afterward to clear out any solvent residue.

Never submerge the heater or the base, and avoid long alcohol soaks in general. Also don't blow into the mouthpiece, since that can push water down into the base.

Cleaning the crucible after every session while it's warm is what keeps flavor consistent and extends how long the crucible and heater last.

Compatibility with Accessories

The EQ has a full accessory lineup, and a few are worth having from day one to ensure you have replacements or to adjust session results slightly.

The EQ 360 Electric Ceramic Herb Chamber is a great option for users who like to use herbs as well. After our own testing, we found that the herb chamber works surprisingly well. It replaces the quartz crucible and converts the EQ for dry herb, using the same touchscreen and temperature control you already know. If you want one device covering both concentrate and flower, this is how you get there.

The DaVinci Hot Knife is the most useful addition for loading the unit because the chamber is so deep. It's an electric loading tool with a ceramic glazed tip that lets you place concentrate cleanly into the crucible without dragging it around the walls.

A spare EQ Quartz Crucible is a practical thing to keep on hand, since the crucible is the wear part on this device. The EQ Zirconia Crucible is the upgrade option; zirconia holds heat longer and is more durable than quartz, though you give up the visibility that clear quartz offers.

The EQ Heater for Crucibles is sold separately as a replacement or backup for the heating element itself.

Warranty

The DaVinci EQ carries a 2-year warranty on the electronic base covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. The heater and the heater/crucible combo are covered for 60 days, and any repaired or replaced part carries 30 days or the remainder of the original coverage, whichever is longer.

The warranty doesn't cover the battery pack, glass, ceramic, or zirconia accessories, cosmetic damage, liquid exposure, or normal battery degradation. Devices need to be registered with DaVinci after purchase to be eligible for service.
