Boundless CFX vs Mighty – Digital Display Dual
The Mighty by Storz and Bickel and the Boundless CFX are two of the most frequently compared vaporizers, even though there is a significant price difference between the two. One look at the them and its easy to see why. The designs are extremely similar. The Mighty is often considered to be one of the best portable vaporizers on the market, which has led many to wonder if the CFX is a good replacement for people who dont have the cash for a Mighty. Lets find out just how similar these two are…
CFX vs Mighty
Vapor QualityThe Boundless CFX offers good vapor and lots of it. The amount of vapor it can produce at even low temperatures is very impressive. The flavor is much better at the very bottom range of what you would normally vaporize at, and it drops off pretty quickly as you increase it. I prefer vaping at 355F with the CFX. At this temp you get great flavor and much bigger clouds than most vaporizers would be able to deliver at a similar temperature. I dont enjoy using this at higher temperatures because you lose a lot of the flavor, and the vapor can also be harsh on your throat. The Mighty Vaporizer is in a completely different league. The vapor is about the best you will get from any portable, and you can expect good flavor at any temperature. The flavor obviously still decreases as you add more heat, but the change is nowhere near as abrupt or severe as it is with the CFX. While the CFX gets the job done, the Mighty really excels in this department. |
Manufacturing QualityIf you just look at the outside of these, youd think that they are built pretty much the same. You may even prefer the CFX thanks to the cool temperature gauge that is part of the display. Dont let looks fool you, because the Mighty is built better. Dont get me wrong, the CFX is still built well for the money. The engineering and materials that went into producing the Mighty just make it a superior product. You can even tell there is a big difference from holding it. The Mighty is heavier and more solid. It feels like the more elegant and premium product. This is backed up by the interior design as well. If there is any advantage that the CFX has, its the fact that you can charge it via USB as well as from a dedicated wall charger. The Mighty can only be charged from its wall charger. |
Ease of UseThis is a category where the two of these really are almost identical. From loading the chamber to turning the unit on and setting the temperature, the experience is extremely similar. Both have a display in the exact same place for looking at and setting the temperature. The buttons are slightly different and placed in a different spot around the screen, but this doesnt actually impact how easy they are to use. If you’re averse to cleaning up and maintaining your vape however, the Mighty does offer the option of using Mighty capsules which helps in keeping your vaporizer chamber clean. |
PortabilityThe CFX is just a little smaller than the Mighty, but the Mighty has a better battery life. Regardless of the size difference, theyre both too big to be considered convenient to carry around. These would be more like cordless phones than cell phones, meaning theyre great for carrying around the house, but not so great when out and about. If you are planning on carrying your vape around with you when you go places, Id suggest avoiding both of these and getting something smaller. |
Battery LifeThe Mightys superior design earns it a close victory here. It will last up to an hour and a half off of a single charge, while the CFX seems to max out at about an hour and fifteen minutes. This puts the Mighty right in what I would consider average for a portable vape, with the CFX being slightly below average. |
DiscreetnessFor the same reason I wouldnt consider either of these portable, I dont consider them discreet either. Theyre just too big. Theres no good way to keep them concealed while you are using or holding them. If you are planning on carrying your vaporizer around and want to be able to use it without other people knowing, youll need to get something else. |
Temperature FlexibilityThis is one area where the CFX does have an advantage. You can adjust the temperature in one degree increments with either of these, but the CFX has a bigger range. The range for the Mighty is 105F to 410F, while the range for the CFX is 100F to 430F.The CFX also has a ridiculously fast heat up time, reaching your set temperature in under 20 seconds. |
SHOWDOWNThe Mighty vape is the clear winner in this showdown! This really wasnt even a contest. While the CFX is a very good vaporizer for the money, the Mighty offers a much more refined experience. They may be comparable on many of the categories we considered today, but the Mighty won the two most important ones easily: vapor and build quality. If you are trying to choose between these vaporizers, the decision is going to come down to money. The Mighty will deliver the better experience, but it comes at a premium price. The CFX gets the job done, and you can get it for a much more economical cost. If youre trying to get a great vape without breaking the bank, you may also want to check out the Smite Plus. Its more portable than either of these, and offers better vapor than the CFX at a similar price. If you are convinced the Mighty is the right unit for you, be sure to pick one up from our store.
