Mighty+ (Plus) vs Arizer Solo 2 Vaporizer Comparison

Updated: October 6, 2023

Since the recent touchdown of the Mighty Plus vaporizer, we’ve been squaring the Storz & Bickel stunner with every popular portable vaporizer available and this time it’s the Arizer Solo 2 that gets its turn. Both devices are well-known for their stellar vapor production and overall ease of use but also have key differences in design that set them apart in more ways than one. If you’re in the market for a new dry herb vape and are on the fence as to which of these two would be best for your needs, wonder no more and read on down below!

Mighty+ vs Arizer Solo 2

MIGHT+ how it works

How it Works

Both the Mighty+ and Arizer Solo 2 are exceptionally easy to operate. Even if you’re someone who’ll be using a dry herb vaporizer for the first time, the digital displays and dedicated inputs on both of these devices make them simple and straightforward to set up. While the Mighty+ has haptic feedback to let you know when your dry herb is ready to be vaped, the Arizer Solo 2 only offers an audio notification in the form of a beep. This might be slightly less preferable especially for those who might have impaired hearing.

On the other hand, the Arizer Solo 2 is slightly easier to clean up compared to the Mighty+. The glass stems which hold the herb on the Arizer take very well to being soaked in your cleaning solution of choice, making it practically a no-brainer compared to the slightly more involved cleaning process required for the Mighty+.

We’d have to declare it a tie between the Mighty+ and Arizer Solo 2 in this department.

MIGHTY+ vapor quality

Vapor Quality

Once again, both the Mighty+ and Arizer Solo 2 trade blows in regards to overall vapor quality and flavor production. The flavor offered by the Arizer Solo 2 is top-notch, which is impressive considering that it’s the lower- priced option among the two. The Mighty+ however, is leaps and bounds ahead of the Arizer Solo 2 when it comes to airflow optimization, offering a unrestricted inhale versus the tight draw that the Arizer Solo 2 is configured for.

When it comes to heating up times, both devices are on par with each other and take roughly a minute or so to get up to speed when starting from a cold unit. The Mighty+ does offer a slightly fuller extraction however which is especially thanks to its super booster function that lets you ramp up the temps on the fly.

It’s very close, but the Mighty+ edges out a small win here.

Manufacturing Quality

It all comes down to a matter of preference as the Mighty+ and Arizer Solo 2 are both very well built portable vaporizers that manage to deviate largely when it comes to the overall design, shape, and weight distribution. The bulk and size of the Mighty+ might be a turnoff for those who are looking for a more pocket friendly vaporizer. On the other hand, the high quality PEEK plastic construction of the Mighty+  is considerably more lightweight than the hefty Arizer Solo 2 with its aluminum alloy frame.

While the Arizer Solo 2 is definitely the smaller and more ergonomic among the two, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s easier to pocket. The glass aroma tubes that are used as mouthpieces are big deterrents to their portability as not only do they poke out a fair deal extending the length of the device, they’re also a lot more fragile compared to the plastic mouthpiece used on the Mighty+

We’d say that it’s more of a tie between the Mighty+ and Arizer Solo 2 in this department and it really comes down to what you prefer.

Battery Life

The Mighty+ vaporizer manages to pull ahead of the Arizer Solo 2 in battery life thanks to the double lithium-ion batteries that it manages to pack inside it’s a plastic frame. On average the Mighty+ lasts for about 8-10 sessions on a full charge depending on preferred vaping temperature, while the Arizer Solo 2 manages about half that amount.

There’s also the issue of charging. The Arizer Solo 2 being the older vaporizer, still uses a DC connector which can make it inconvenient compared to the USB Type C port offered on the Mighty+. With charge time of roughly an hour from zero to full, the Mighty+ also charges hell of a lot faster compared to the Arizer Solo 2 which takes almost thrice the amount of time to reach a full charge.

The Mighty+ easily wins when it comes to battery life and charging times. Not to mention the USB Type C on the Mighty+ lets you easily charge the vaporizer on the go with any charging cable and adequately powered power bank you might have on hand.

MIGHTY+ Battery life

Temperature Flexibility

Both the Mighty+ and Arizer come with fully fledged precise temperature control that’s easy to operate on either device. Both vaporizers offer easy to read digital displays that are devoid of clutter and manage to convey the relevant information to the user without being difficult to read. The dedicated power button and temperature control inputs used by both vapes simply make sense and can be operated by most first time users even without the use of a manual.

As for temperature ranges, it’s pretty close as the Mighty+ offers a range of 40–210°C while the Arizer Solo 2 is programmed to vape at 50–220°C. While the Arizer Solo 2 does have a 10 degree advantage in maximum vape temps on paper, in real life use, both devices feel equal to each other. We say this considering the overall warmth and density of vapor produced when operated at the maximum respective temperatures offered.

We’ll really have to call it a tie as far as temperature flexibility is concerned.

MIGHTY+ overall experience

Final Thoughts

While it mostly boils down to preference, we’ll have to say that Mighty plus vaporizer is the objectively better vaporizer this time around. While the vapor quality offered by either the Mighty+ and Arizer Solo 2 is practically on par with each other, the Mighty+ is simply the more convenient vaporizer between the two. The significantly faster charge time and longer battery life of the Mighty+ is a game changer compared to the slightly outdated specs on the Arizer 2.

And while we might prefer the smaller and more pocketable aluminum construction on the Arizer 2 compared to the PEEK plastic construction on the Mighty+, this doesn’t necessarily make the former the more portable vaporizer. We’ll have the fragile glass aroma tubes on the Arizer Solo 2 to thank for that.
