How to Remove and Replace the Flat Mouthpiece
Flat vs. Raised Mouthpiece
The Artiq comes with the flat mouthpiece installed and a raised 10mm mouthpiece in the box. The main differences between them stem from personal preferences, but overall, the Flat mouthpiece is a bit more discreet. The raised mouthpiece offers a bit more room for your lips, and the inhale takes on a more straw like feel. Each is good at its own thing, but experiment with them to see which one you like more.
Preventing Clogs with the Carb Function
The oil found in your 510 thread cartridges can get stuck in the airpath close to the mouthpiece area. Davinci included a carb function to ensure you don't constantly gunk up the internal airpath(extending the unit, and mouthpiece durability). To clear out the vapor, press and hold the control button, then inhale any remaining vapor at the end of a session to run the ARTIQ's carb function, which clears the residual vapor before it has a chance to settle and clog the airpath.
How To Clean the Flat Mouthpiece
Cleaning the flat mouthpiece is very straightforward, but it helps to keep the mouthpiece clean after every session rather than doing sparse deep cleaning. To fully clean the mouthpiece, we recommend fully removing it from the unit and rinsing it with warm water to get the oils loose. To really get the gunk out, you want to use iso alcohol. Dipping a cotton swab or wipe into it will usually do the trick. Just make sure you rinse with water afterward and fully dry the part before reassembling.
