Yocan Dirk Hot Knife
About Yocan Dirk Hot Knife
The Yocan Dirk Hot Knife is an electronically heated dab tool that excels at loading concentrates. With a traditional dab tool, wax sticks to the tool, forcing you to scrape any material against the bucket’s walls. The Yocan Dirk Hot Knife lets you heat up your material to drop it directly in the center of the bucket with no hassle or mess.

You Should Buy the Yocan Dirk Hot Knife If…
You should buy the Yocan Dirk Hot Knife if you're tired of losing sticky concentrate to a cold dab tool, or if you want a heated tool with a changeable tip angle instead of a fixed one.
How to Use the Yocan Dirk Hot Knife
Everything runs off a single button, with click patterns for power and heat. Here is a step by step guide:
- Charge the tool over USB-C using the cable it came with rather than a substitute.
- Take off the protective cover and press the power button five times rapidly to switch the tool on.
- Select your voltage level, indicated by the light colour, and let the tip heat up.
- Touch the tip to your concentrate to load it, then press the button five times again to power off.
Choosing a Voltage Setting
The Yocan Dirk Hot Knife comes with three voltage settings: 2.6V, 3.2V, and 3.8V. The main reason to choose a different voltage is if you’re using different materials. Low voltage is meant for softer concentrates, where you only need a bit of heat to handle it. The middle voltage setting is for harder concentrates that need to be melted to separate them for loading. The highest voltage is best for frozen or very hard concentrates that need a quick hot blade to slip easily off the knife.
How To Choose the Right Tip For the Yocan Dirk Hot Knife
The Dirk has 2 different ceramic tips that you can use. The differences are simple but can be useful depending on what concentrates you plan to scoop up. The K1 top is a bit more rounded, which makes it much easier to use with softer, more malleable concentrates. On the other hand, the K2 tip is more like a blade and works best with concentrates that require a sharper end to really cut into. Swapping between the two is easy thanks to its magnetic connection. It's as simple as removing it by pulling it off and replacing it with the correct tip(make sure the hotknife is off and cool to the touch).
