XVAPE Vista Mini 2 Review

How it Works

As with any device, we highly recommend charging it fully before your first use. Next, remove all parts of the Vista Mini 2 and assemble. Place the mouthpiece inside the glass downstem of the main body and place the white plastic k-clip over the connection to secure it in place.

Take the carb cap tether and place it onto the carb cap. Loop the end of the carb cap tether over the mouthpiece. Remove the atomizer housing from the top of the device, then remove the glass from the device and fill the glass up to the marked red line with water.

Reattach the glass and the atomizer housing and then attach the quartz atomizer to the top of the device and you are good to go. Place your rice grain sized dab inside the atomizer and press the button three times rapidly to turn it on. The Vista has 4 temperatures which you can switch between by pressing the button twice.

Once you have selected your temperature, click the power button once and the Vista will start heating up. It will vibrate when it reaches temperature, and will stay hot for 35 seconds. Then inhale, work the carb cap, and enjoy!

Temperature Flexibility

The Vista Mini 2 has four temperature settings to choose from, which you can switch between by pressing the power button twice. Unfortunately, I could not find any accurate temperatures or voltage settings for the Vista Mini, however, green is the lowest, white is medium-low, blue is medium and red is hot, hot, hot.

I spent most of my time on the green setting, as I like a tasty dab and nothing that will burn my throat. The red setting, in my opinion, should be avoided. I think the unit would be better off with 3 settings like the Pulsar Rok.

Vapor Quality

The Vista Mini 2 heats up in around 6 seconds, and can pump out a decent amount of clouds. I found even on the lowest two settings, it produced enough vapor to give me a pretty potent, flavorful hit.

It won’t knock your socks off like the red setting will, but the vapor becomes very harsh very quickly, even with that water filtration. As I stated above, personally I wouldn’t go higher than blue, and even blue can be relatively harsh. Stick to green and white and the flavor is certainly there.

The biggest drawback to the vapor quality is the carb cap. It is super secure, which is great, but the fact that is so secure does not allow you to move it around freely and get that directional airflow to really agitate the vapor and get it where you want it to be.

If you’re looking for a stylish and portable alternative to an electric dab rig that will blow your mind, be sure to look at the Utillian 5 and it’s companion bubbler.

Manufacturing Quality

The Vista Mini 2 certainly has a unique design. I really like the fact that the mouthpiece is interchangeable, as you can put whichever glass attachment you have on top that fits a 14mm stem.

It sits at under 6 inches tall, even with the mouthpiece attached. I like the design – it is clean and stylish, especially the way the water lights up with your chosen temperature color.

The device includes all of the things it should, like haptic feedback and 4 temperature settings to accommodate those who like to take big, throat melting rips.

It comes with a decent amount of kit too – with the rig itself, extra atomizer, swabs, charging cable, dab tool and keychain, the k-clip, 2 carb cap tethers, wipes, and spare o-rings all in a convenient carrying case that is a great size.

The carb cap I mentioned above is the only real fatal flaw of the Vista Mini 2.

Battery Life

The Vista Mini 2 has a battery that will last you around 20-25 sessions, and the Vista displays battery life when you turn on the device as indicated by the light ring around the power button. White is 60% to 100% battery, green is 20% to 60% battery, and red is 20% or lower battery.

The most exciting thing about the battery life (and probably the unit itself) is that it offers wireless charging. I can just leave it on the charger and pick it up when I’m ready to rip, which is pretty cool.

The downside to wireless charging is that it is unreliable at times – a slight shift in the placement can make you think you’re charging when you’re not, and then you pick up your rig to dab and it’s dead. Wireless charging is also harder on batteries than traditional charging, but so is leaving your device overnight to overcharge…so take that with a grain of salt.

If you’re looking for an alternative e-rig that has interchangeable batteries and will last you 50 sessions on a single charge, be sure to look at the Focus V Carta.

Portability

The XVAPE Vista Mini 2 is pretty portable – if you’re into that sort of thing. Personally, I like to keep my e-rigs at home, but the carrying case is a perfect size for porting around.

It’s relatively small, too, so hitting it when you’re out and about is doable, if not recommended, simply for the fact that you’re essentially hitting a bong-looking device in public. However, when taken from location A to location B, the Vista will not give you much trouble at all. For a more portable wax device check out the Utillian 2 wax pen.

Ease of Use

The Vista is simple to use. 3 taps to turn it on, 2 to change temperature, 1 to heat up. The hardest part of the learning curve of use on this device is putting it together in the beginning.

Once you have that down to a science, everything else is relatively intuitive – even the carb cap is super easy to use for a complete newbie, as it can’t go anywhere.

Discreetness

The XVAPE Vista is relatively discrete, although as I stated above, might not be the best device for public draws, although the same could be said of almost any e-rig. For comparisons sake however, the XMAX Qomo, manages to be pretty discreet despite using a water filtration unit as well.

When in the case, it is as discreet as they come.

Overall Experience

Similar to other handheld portable e-rigs such as the XMAX Qomo, the XVAPE Vista Mini 2 is a decent, middle of the road device. The price point is good, and for complete beginners, it is a good electric dab rig to get you started in the world of wax.

The biggest drawbacks are that immovable carb cap and the harsh, harsh vapor you get on the highest temperature. I would recommend this device for someone who wants a small investment e-rig and people who prefer flavor over massive clouds.

For the price we found the Core Electric Dab rig just a bit better in that regard.
