Zeus Arc vs Arizer Solo 2 – Top End Tussle

Updated: October 6, 2023

The Zeus Arc GTS Hub has been making waves since launch, with tons of positive reviews and feedback for this mini but mighty portable Zeus vaporizer. Today we compare the Zeus Arc to the crown jewel of the Arizer line of vaporizers, the Arizer Solo 2. So let’s dive right in and see who will win this matchup, it’s the Zeus Arc vs Arizer Solo 2!

Zeus Arc vs Arizer Solo 2

Vapor Quality

The Arizer Solo 2 vaporizer has been on the market since 2017 and improved on the original Solo’s vapor production, offering better airflow, faster heat-up time and precise temperature control.

Arizer has stuck to using the same glass tubes that we have seen with their other devices, which offers smooth and great tasting vapor.

Vapor production from the Solo 2 is pretty good, especially when the temperature is set above 200 degrees Celsius.

One thing we have noticed with the Solo 2, is that herbs tend to cook a bit unevenly, with the herbs at the bottom of the glass stem getting more cooked than your herbs on top. One would suggest a simple stir to remedy this issue, but doing so with the Arizer glass stem is a bit difficult and you are more likely to spill your herbs.

This is pretty much the only downside when it comes to vapor from the Arizer Solo 2, which can lead to a pre-mature roasting flavor as your herbs on the bottom overcook.

The Zeus Arc GTS has been impressing people all over with the vapor production from such a small unit. Don’t like the size of the Zeus Arc fool you, this vaporizer can pump out the vapor that can rival even convection-based units, which is quite the feat.

The Zeus Arc uses a gold plated heating chamber to transfer heat to your herbs, while extracting that heat quickly in the gold heatsink located in the mouthpiece. Even though the vapor path on the Zeus Arc is shorter, the vapor it produces is equally as smooth as the Solo 2, which is impressive.

When it comes to raw vapor production the Zeus Arc is a beast, able to pump out ample amounts of clouds and will have those who’ve never considered a dry herb vape turning there heads.

The cook on the Zeus Arc is much more even than the Solo 2 without the need to stir your bowl. However, if you do want to get a quick stir in there is a multi-tool located at the bottom of the Zeus Arc which you can use to quickly stir during a session, which is much easier with the Arc and you don’t risk your herbs flying all over the place because the raised lip around the loading chamber.

When it comes down to it both are fantastic vaporizers when it comes to overall vapor production, the Arizer Solo 2’s tried and true glass vapor path does a great job at preserving flavor. While the Zeus Arc’s gold vapor path does an excellent job at producing ample amounts of smooth vapor.

We are going to give the very slight edge to the Zeus Arc in this category because the cook is a bit more even and does a better job at extracting your herbs.

Zeus Arc vs Solo 2 Manufacturing Quality

Manufacturing Quality

The Solo 2’s manufacturing quality is a solid step up from the original Arizer Solo. A faster heat-up time like the Utillian 722, digital display, stronger battery, and sleeker shell, all put the Solo 2 a notch above the original Solo.

The track record of the original Arizer Solo, gives us high expectations for the Solo 2, with many Solo 1 owners still using their original units. It is safe to say Arizer products are built like little workhouses that seem to stand the test of time.

The Zeus Arc also features a fantastic build quality, sporting a super slim chassis that easily fits in the palm of your hand. What is more impressive is the features that they packed into such a small unit. The Arc is loaded with haptic feedback, an accelerometer, a 3500mah battery, a built-in multi-tool, oh and of course the all gold vapor path.

To have all of this in such a portable vaporizer, as well as have the Zeus Arc perform the way it does is quite remarkable.

Zeus also backs the Arc with a 3-year warranty, along with a one-time hassle-free replacement if you should ever run into any issues. But so far no issues with the Arc have been reported.

For this section it is very difficult to pick a winner, so its going to have to be a tie. Both the Arizer Solo 2 and the Zeus Arc offer superb build quality. If you want something smaller the Zeus Arc is an obvious choice, while the Solo 2 is geared more towards the at home crowd.

Zeus Arc vs Solo 2 Ease of Use

Ease of Use

The Arizer line of products have always been fairly easy to use, but the glass stem has always been a bit of a mixed bag. While it is great for producing great tasting vapor and they are easy to clean, they are also very fragile and tend to break if treated with any roughness.

The tubes also become quite hot after use, make it tough to quickly reload or even put away the stems after you are finished a session. This makes the Solo 2 a little more difficult to navigate when you are out.

The Zeus Arc is a bit more hassle-free in its approach, with a built-in gold chamber that can be easily loaded with your fingers or the scooped lip near the heating chamber.

The Zeus Arc only has 1 button which makes it super simple to operate similar to the Utillian 722 vaporizer and the included multi-tool which is magnetically connected to the bottom is useful for stirring your herbs or dumping them out at the end of a session.

Checking the Arc’s battery life just takes a simple shake and the device will begin to cool down if it does not detect motion.

Overall, we feel like the Zeus Arc is the easier of the 2 units to use, especially if you are looking to use it while out for the day. The Solo 2 tubes pose too much of an issue with their fragility and how warm they become after a session.

Zeus Arc vs Solo 2 Portability

Portability

When it comes to portability, it’s not really much of a contest, the Zeus Arc is much smaller and way more portable than the Solo 2, standing a mere 22.5mm x 42mm x 87mm. Not to mention the Zeus Arc does not have any additional parts to be stored separately.

For the Solo 2, you are going to want to look into getting a case for your vaporizer to efficiently carry it and the stems around with you. It is like the Mighty vaporizer; bulky and difficult to pocket at half the price.

Zeus Arc vs Solo 2 Battery

Battery Life

While the Solo 2 may not be the smallest unit on the market like the Davinci Miqro, it makes up for this with its battery life, offering 3 hours of charge time, which is astounding. It will be days before you need to charge your Solo 2.

The Zeus Arc also has an impressive battery for unit of its size, the 3500mah battery lasts about 90 minutes on a full charge. This will be more than ample for most people and you can easily go a day or 2 without charging the Arc.

But at the end of the day 3 hours is double the available charge time of the Zeus Arc, so we have to give this section to the Solo 2.

Zeus Arc vs Solo 2 Temperature Flexibility

Temperature Flexibility

The Arizer Solo 2 features a digital display which allows for precise temperature control. This will let you set the temperature of the device anywhere up to 220 degrees celsius so you can fine-tune the vapor to your preference. Although the temperature for the solo 2 is impressive as per the market standards but not as impressive as the Firefly 2+ that has temperature as high as 260 degree celcius and that too with the heat time of just 5 seconds.

The Zeus Arc has 3 pre-set temperatures which can be adjusted by pressing the power button. The 3 temperatures are perfectly calibrated to produce impressive, yet smooth vapor.

However, at the end of the day, the Solo 2 does offer more flexibility through the digital display.

SHOWDOWN

When it comes to the Zeus Arc vs Arizer Solo 2, both units offer a great vapor experience and are geared towards different users. The Solo 2 is for those who prefer to vape at home and love the idea of a glass vapor path, despite the issues with fragility.

The Zeus Arc, on the other hand, is geared towards those who want ample amounts of vapor on the go. Offering impressive vapor production at the palm of your hands.

When it comes down to it, we find the Zeus Arc a more versatile vaporizer, excellent for both home use and for when on-the-go. It is packed full of features yet remains tiny even to tuck away in your pocket for a night out.
