Weve reviewed plenty of Yocan vapes before like the Yocan Uni and Yocan Evolve Plus and in general, have had mixed feelings about the vapes that Yocan has put out. They’re fairly cheap, they do get the job done, but the build quality has room for improvement in the crowded wax pen market. Our Yocan Regen review puts the device to the test to see if its any good! Check out what we have to say about it in our Yocan Regen review here!

Review: Yocan Regen
How it Works
How to use the Yocan Regen is quite simple. As with most portable wax pen vaporizers, the device will turn on after 5 quick clicks and temperature settings can be cycled with three quick presses.
To then use it, we suggest pulsing the power button a few times to warm up the coils, and then apply a rice-grain sized amount to the coils gently with the dab tool.
Inhale while holding down the button and enjoy! Thats all there is to it and then youll just have to clean it after every half dozen sessions or so.
Temperature Flexibility
The Yocan Regen is on the average side of things in this regard, with three different voltage settings to choose from. This gives you some good flexibility in terms of the wax experience you get as low, middle and high temperatures all give different experiences. With 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0v of power available, you have decently a wide range of energy to play with.
With that in mind, more versatility is always welcome and a device like the Utillian 5 (V4) with its 4 temperature settings gives you more room to play with when it comes to dialing in the perfect hit.
For a budget wax pen vaporizer though, its hard to expect more than 3 temperature settings and its par for the course in this price range. Much better than a unit with no power setting at all anyways!
Vapor Quality
The Yocan wax units are pretty run of the mill performers, nothing overly special, they use the same style of coils yocan have been using for years.
The vapor experience you get will mostly depend on the temperature setting and quality of concentrates you put in.
One thing we have noticed with the Yocan Regen is a lack of flavor from our extracts, not entirely sure why but it tends to lean towards a burned flavor.
Users who prefer a full flavor experience would be better served by a unit like the Linx Hypnos Zero.
Manufacturing Quality
Yocan makes low cost units that will get the job done, don’t expect anything fancy. Weve heard reports of reliability issues with devices like the Yocan Evolve Plus XL amd Yocan Magneto. We hope the Yocan Regen does not follow this trend but you get what you pay for.
The built-in silicone storage container is a huge plus for us, as thatll reduce the amount of things youll need to carry around on a given day.
In the box you get the unit itself, a dab tool, 1 each the dual and triple quartz coil, a USB charger and hanging ring. This is pretty solid for what you pay and were quite content.
Battery Life
Wax pen vapes dont need too much battery life to run for a while, and the Yocan Regen does pack inside a healthy 1100mAh of juice.
This device has good battery life, bested only by the likes of the Yocan Pandon with 1300mAh of juice tucked inside.
In the end, you can easily expect to run through a gram or more of wax with ease before needing to top up. It charges via MicroUSB within an hour or so, which is standard for this type of device. Overall, we couldnt expect much more!
Portability
The Yocan Regen fits perfectly in almost any pocket or bag you like, making it a great portable wax vaporizer.
The compact size and built-in storage container take up as little room as it can, with only the dab tool the last thing you have to worry about.
While its a very portable unit, its still beaten out by oil vapes like the Tronian Tautron with its super tiny size and convenient operation. For what it is, however, the Yocan Regen is okay for taking out and about.
Ease of Use
Wax pen vaporizers are quite easy to use in general, the Yocan Regen being no different.
If youre completely new to wax pen vaporizers then you may take a couple of sessions to learn how to use it optimally, but you should master the device pretty quickly afterwards!
Cleaning wax vapes is a bit annoying if you run a lot of wax through them often, and the best way to clean them is by simply not and replacing it with a new Yocan coil.
If youre doing larger globs especially, keeping your unit nice and clean will certainly keep the performance and flavor at its best.
Discreetness
Wax pen vaporizers are quite small and perfect for portability. The built-in storage container that we enjoy so much definitely shines here. Its 2mL capacity is perfect for just filling up and forgetting about.
As pen-shaped vapes are no uncommon thing, most people would likely liken this to be an e-cig rather than a wax vape.
Overall Experience
Yocan hasn’t really reinvented the wheel with the Yocan Regen. We liken it to an upgraded Yocan Evolve Plus in terms of attractiveness, build quality, and performance whether it has fixed the overall performance, reliability, only time will tell.
We still prefer the coil styles and 4 temperature settings of a unit like the Utillian 5 (V4).
While the Yocan Regen cannot vaporize dry herb, a device like the Focusvape Tourist can cover both end of the spectrum with ease, a great consideration if you want an absolute unit that can vape dry herb and wax at the same time.
