Healthy Rips Fury 2 Review – The Fast & The Fury 2

Updated: October 6, 2023

The Healthy Rips Fury 2 is a slight redesign of the original Healthy Rips Fury that we reviewed in the past. Not much changed aside from an additional stealth mode, upgraded silicone seals, and 3 clicks to turn the unit on instead of 5. Still, we figured we’d give you a complete rundown on this popular little device.

It may be your first dry herb vaporizer, make sure you check out our handy Dry Herb Vaporizers Guide which will help you understand how it all works!

How it Works

The Healthy Rips Fury 2 is a pretty simple device. Removing the mouthpiece exposes the chamber, which you can load around 0.15 grams of dry herb into.

After that, 3 clicks to turn the unit on, set your desired temperature and you’re ready to rip! Remarkably simple to use with no extra quirks, special draw technique, or learning curve to it.

If using the included water piece adapter, you’ll only be able to hold about 0.075 grams in it – though the Healthy Rips Fury 2 is an efficient device indeed.

Temperature Flexibility

With an integrated LCD screen, you’re given full temperature control between 320-430°F/160-221°C. This is a perfect temperature range, letting you go from very cool and flavorful hits to hits which get almost full extraction from your material.

Finally, we’re seeing budget units with full temperature control as opposed to some presets. A much better alternative!

However, for the beginners, customizing the temperatures end up being a nightmare, hence they lean to a much simple one temperature setting offered by vaporizers like the LITL 1.

Vapor Quality

Though it’s been marketed and thought to have been convection-only, the heating is in fact hybrid, using a mix of conduction and convection.

While this may be less appealing to some, many top-notch units use hybrid heating such as the current king of portable vaporizers; the Mighty.

The vapor quality from the Healthy Rips Fury 2 is very impressive, especially from such a small size. With the standard mouthpiece, the draw resistance is definitely better than average! Flavor is very nice and even, while potency and cloud size is definitely very solid!

With the included WPA, water filtration takes it to a whole new level! Smoothness and flavor is fantastic and the water leaves you with a much cooler hit – giving your throat a break from hot air inhales! Usage with a water piece is certainly where the Healthy Rips Fury 2 shines.

Manufacturing Quality

Though the quality is pretty good overall, there are some minor complaints with it. The finish doesn’t feel particularly nice with the rubberized coating and I believe it would’ve been nicer if they had just gone for a brushed aluminum or steel body finish instead.

The plastic mouthpiece also feels relatively cheap and I feel it takes away from the flavor just a bit. For comparison, the borosillicate glass mouthpiece like the one on the Arizer Air ii would’ve been a better alternative.

Unfortunately, the bottom of the chamber likes to get stained with residue from your dry herb, and I find snugly placing a small steel screen at the bottom of the chamber will help keep it squeaky clean.

You’re given a healthy accessories kit with a cleaning/tool kit, spare gaskets, concentrates tank, protective cover and charger. If you do order off their site too you get a choice for a free extra mouthpiece – a glass WPA, glass mouthpiece or XL WPA.

Not to mention the tiny size, it’s impressive what the Healthy Rips Fury 2 packs as a whole. Users who are on a budget wanting the high end features such as glass mouthpiece and digital display prefer the Utillian 421 vaporizer.

Battery Life

Though not bad by any means, the 1600mAh battery does the job for between 7-10 sessions.

Unfortunately, the non-replaceable and proprietary nature of the battery means you cannot swap it out and when the battery inevitably reaches the end of its life cycle, you’re practically left with a cute paperweight. Users prefer Flowermate V5 Nano for its easy to replace battery feature.

If there’s one design change I’d love to see, it’d be the battery.

Portability

Barely taller than a lighter, the Healthy Rips Fury 2 is tiny. Though overall larger than the Davinci IQC, the Fury 2 remains small and fits in the average male’s palm completely hidden. The included protective cover further adds to the portability and reduces scent too.

If only there were a built-in herb storage container too, though that’d be asking for a lot from such a small and inexpensive device!

The Healthy Rips Fury 2 also tucks away into a pair of pants pretty well, though it’s a bit wide and won’t sit as comfortably in tight pockets.

Ease of Use

With no special draw technique, Bluetooth app or strange rituals, it’s a device a complete newbie could pick up and use within minutes.

The only thing to keep in mind is to not pack the chamber too tightly since the convection heating needs some airflow. With that aside, it’s a simplistic device that does the job – and that job is done very well. Some users tend to lean towards the Utillian 421 because it has better airflow control.

Cleaning the Healthy Rips Fury 2 is pretty easy, and after removing the silicone O-rings from the mouthpiece, a simple cleaning solution soak will do the trick. Likewise for any of the included glass pieces too.

Without the pipe screen trick I mentioned earlier, the bottom of the steel chamber gets stained and I found even rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab won’t get it off. Unfortunate, but the solution is fortunately pretty simple.

Discreetness

The Healthy Rips Fury 2 is tiny and bite-sized, completely hiding in the palm, you can be walking about with a clenched fist and it’d be practically unseen similar to the LITL 1 Vaporizer. The heat-up time is an impressive 15 seconds, letting you almost treat it as an on-demand device.

The previously mentioned protective cover helps a lot in containing scent to the inside of the unit, further increasing the portability and stealth factor. Thanks, Healthy Rips!

Overall Experience

The Healthy Rips Fury 2 is a decent budget vaporizer with good performance for the price.

If you are looking for a similar unit with a slightly larger chamber, better battery, and convection-based heating that also does a great job of handling waxes as well be sure to check out the Utillian 722.
