FlytLAB Lift Vaporizer Review – Taking Flight

Updated: October 6, 2023

FlytLAB Vapor Systems has been around for a few years now with a number of vaporizers sponsored by entertainers like Rick Ross and French Montana. Their signature model, the H2Flo, was known for being cumbersome to handle and also for producing hot and harsh vapor. So even though we can tell there’s a fair amount of flash going on with these guys, how well do the vaporizers actually work? Read on and get the TVape scoop!

Review: FlytLAB Lift

Flytlab Lift Vaporizer

How Flytlab Lift Vaporizer Works

How it Works

Like most other one-button vaporizers, the Lift is very simple to get a handle on. Clicking the button three times turns the Lift on, and the LED light will turn green to indicate the device is charged.

Holding the power button will cycle through the three available temperatures. Once you have chosen a temperature, you can take your draws.

Temperature Flexibility Of Flytlab Lift Vaporizer

Temperature Flexibility

There are three temperature settings available for the Lift. High is 415-425°F, the medium is 395-405°F, and low is 365-375°F. Heat-up time is advertised as ranging from 25-38 seconds, but it actually takes closer to a minute for the Lift to reach full heat.

The chamber bakes the herbs continuously for a full 2-minute session, and will automatically turn off after this time. Clicking the power button another three times will bring the unit back to resume the last set temperature.

If you are looking for a unit in a similar form factor but with a bit more temperature flexibility we highly suggest checking out the Focusvape, which gives users 6 pre-set temperatures.

Vapor Quality Of Flytlab Lift Vaporizer

Vapor Quality

Vapor quality from the Lift is nothing to shout about. The glass mouthpiece helps keep flavor intact for the first few draws from the Lift, but it quickly gets quite hot and harsh on the higher temperatures.

Despite the hot and harsh vapor, it’s still difficult to get substantial clouds from the Lift, making for a frustrating overall experience.  We would also like you to check out the Utillian 421 for its dedicated glass mouthpiece and amazing vapor quality for smooth hits from every session.

Manufacturing Quality

Despite the flashy associations of FlytLAB and their rapper pals, the actual build quality of the Lift is a mixed bag. From what we can tell, the Lift looks like it’s mostly comprised of leftover pieces from the H2Flo.

However, even these leftovers are not exactly the worst of the lot. The bulk of the body is still made from lightweight aluminum alloy. The device ends up weighing about 67 grams and is just over 4 inches tall, which makes it one of the more compact portable vaporizers out there.

The heating element is “convection-style”, meaning it combines a conduction oven with additional heat rings. The fully ceramic oven has a mesh screen to keep herbs from flailing about There’s also an extensive ten-year warranty included, so in case the Lift ends up being a let-down (likely), you will at least have some backup to get the most lift from the Lift.  For its unique convection heating, we would like you to check the Firefly 2+  Vaporizer.

Battery Life

The Lift should last for a day or so of moderate use on a full charge, which will take approximately 2 hours to complete.

The website claims a full charge should last 13-20 bowls worth, though this time can be lessened by primarily using the higher heat settings. The battery life of the Arizer Solo 2 would provide you with around 3-4 sessions that’ll last you for about 45 mins, check that out too.

Battery life is indicated by the LED light beside the power button with the following color coordination: green for a full battery, yellow for a half battery, and red indicating a low battery.

Portability Of Flytlab Lift Vaporizer

Portability

It doesn’t take much to lift the FlytLab Lift on the go, as it’s quite light and small and won’t take up much room in wherever it’s being stored.

The glass mouthpiece is retractable, which is appreciated when it comes to taking vaporizers in a pocket or bag as it makes the device even more compact. That said, we wonder how long it would take for this piece to fall out after some rough-and-tumble action.

If you end up with a Lift and want to take it on the go, best to use a carrier like the Zeus Armor Hard Case to keep the mouthpiece from shattering.

Ease Use Of Flytlab Lift Vaporizer

Ease of Use

This is a very simple device to use which should give next to no issue for the vast majority of users. Three clicks of the power button turn the FlytLab Lift on, and holding the control button allows choice of temperature.

The mouthpiece is supposedly designed for low draw resistance, but we found this was not exactly the case. Herbs will need to be ground quite finely in order to get it into the relatively small heating chamber. This makes the first few draws akin to sucking through a thick milkshake, but unfortunately not as sweet. Try checking out the Flowermate V5 Nano if you’re looking for something at lower price but with premium feel.

Overall Experience Of Flytlab Lift Vaporizer

Overall Experience

Overall, the FlytLab Lift is pretty similar to many portable herb vaporizers we have seen before (literally, if you count how parts from the other FlytLAB models).

It is a decent enough convection-style vaporizer, but the cost of $150 USD makes the Lift a little pricey to recommend as a vaporizer for value-seekers.

For what is offered you would be better off getting a Utillian 420, a comparable unit that offers 3 temperatures and an optional glass mouthpiece all in an easy to store package. Or if the pen-shape is more your thing we highly recommend checking out the Focusvape.

Compatible with ZEUS Iceborn
This vaporizer is compatible with the ZEUS Iceborn, a revolutionary new vapor cooling system engineered by Canadian vape manufacturer ZEUSArsenal. The Iceborn is designed to produce cooler draws and bigger clouds when connected to your vaporizer. The vapour produced is ultra smooth and crisp and because of ice cooling, instead of water filtration, there is no loss of efficiency. The ZEUS Iceborn adds an additional 2 points to the vapor quality score of this vaporizer and is a highly recommended vaporizer accessory.
