How to Use

Dynavap does things a little bit differently than the majority of portable vaporizers on the market. Knowing how to use a Dynavap takes a bit of a learning curve. The changes made to the Dynavap’s tip allow you to scoop your ground dry herb out of your grinder with ease. Then gently tamp down the tip so that it is still loosely packed and replace the cap.

Take your torch to around halfway up the cap, ensuring that the blue flame touches the cap. Flip between the two rockers on the back of the device to rotate and achieve an even cook.

You will hear the click somewhere between 5-30 seconds, depending on your torch and technique. Pull your torch away when you hear the click and inhale. Feather the carb cap to take your hits up a notch.

Temperature Flexibility

The Dynavap requires you to heat using a torch or induction heater – but when you get your technique down, you will be completely in control of the type of vapor you’re getting. I usually find the first hit is a little wispy, the second hit packs a punch, and the third can as well if you haven’t extracted all of your herbs.

The biggest thing to note is not to keep heating for an extended period of time after the click. There’s a chance you will combust your material, and then you’re just using a one hitter. Don’t worry – it’s happened to the best of us.

Users who want to dial in the exact temperature of their vapor should take a look at the  Utillian 620.

Vapor Quality

The Dynavap M 2021 slaps. The small bowl size is deceiving – it only holds about .4 grams – but it certainly gets the job done and is a great microdose for anyone who perfects the technique. Anyone looking to save a couple of bucks on dry herb will certainly be a fan.

If running dry, the vapor can get a little harsh – the vapor path is short – but the flavor that comes through is great. Running it through a water pipe is as simple as ordering an adapter from Sneaky Pete. And in case you wondering, the Dynavap M does concentrates justice as well although you’ll need to purchase a Dynavap Dynacoil separately to get it working with wax or budder.

If we’re talking version to version, I personally don’t think the Dynavap 2021 M changed much over 2020. Airflow is better, the design is different, but ultimately, the flavor is still there and all of the things about 2020 that I liked are here in 2021. Is the flavor as good as some sweet sweet convection vapor like on the Utillian 722? Not quite. But it gets pretty close.

Users who prefer consistently solid vapor quality check out the Zeus Arc S hub. A water-pipe adapter will take your Zeus Arc S sessions to the next level with silky smooth draws with your favorite bubbler.

Manufacturing Quality

Dynavap has a history of making well-built and engineered devices. There are some new things in the 2021 version of the M. The engineers over at Dynavap have made some changes that affect aesthetics and some that affect performance.

The 2021 M sticks with the captive cap first used in the 2020 model. This cap has indents that hold onto the device while in use, and also have a stronger click so you don’t burn your herb.

They’ve updated the tip of the M to have what they’re calling septa serrated fully faceted extraction chamber. Look, I quite like the M but that feels like a lot of words to say the tip. They’ve changed the grooves on the tip to promote better airflow and to disturb the air coming into the bowl for a more even cook.

They’ve also changed the fins to be incremental, I’m assuming to further the disruption of the airflow. It looks pretty cool, I didn’t notice too much of a difference in terms of practical use, but hey, I’m not an engineer.

The body of the device has changed as well. This is just for “tactile navigation” which I’m assuming will help any visually impaired users, which is obviously a great thing. They’ve updated the chiral airports to be larger as well, to allow more air into your draw.

They’ve redone the rocker on the back of the device. This one I will say I did notice, as the rocking motion is the signature of the M and helps you evenly distribute the heat over your herbs. Having the two to flip between is just simply easier.

The rest are just design choices. The mouthpiece has changed to a 10mm taper and they have added some inlays around it that make the device look just a little more aesthetically pleasing.

Portability

The entire line is small and portable. Just don’t forget your torch. The DynaStash is a great accessory and they even have a portable induction heater called the Orion.

It’s the same size as a one hitter and travels just like one – the tip gets hot! Don’t try to slip it back in your hand and burn yourself, or do if you’re so numb from this pandemic that you just want to FEEL something. Just kidding, don’t do that. Getting a carry bag such as the Zeus Armor Case might be a good idea for this vape.

If you’re looking for something that doesn’t take up a lot of space and doesn’t get as hot, check out the Utillian 722.

Ease of Use

Using a torch for a vaporizer seems like a daunting task, but once you’ve used it a handful of times, your technique will be down and easy to replicate. There’s a learning curve to getting the best vapor, sure, but it gets easier and easier.

Cleaning is simple, just take the o-rings out, separate the pieces, give them a little isopropyl alcohol bath, rinse and dry, and put it all back together.

If you’re looking to clean the Dynavap  on the go however, a Zeus Purify cleaning kit just might be the most convenient solution for a hassle-free cleaning experience.

Discreetness

Sessions with the Dynavap are quick and dirty – but still, pulling out a torch in public combined with the rocking technique might make you look…

A way that you probably don’t want to look. It is small and can be put away quickly, but maybe take it from place to place before taking a rip!

Overall Experience

The Dynavap M is its own brand. There’s nothing like it on the market. Your average vaporizer user will be a little confused when they first see someone using a torch to vaporize, but again, the engineering is impressive and people keep coming back to this device for a reason.

If you’re looking for something tactile, boutique, and unique, maybe you have a butane torch hanging around, I would recommend checking this updated version of the M out. If you have the 2020 M, it becomes a little bit more of a debate, but I still think the Dynavap 2021 ‘M’ has some new offerings, namely the airflow improvement allows for some full, deeper inhales.

If you’re into water filtered hits, you also might want to consider picking up the Utillian Glass Bubbler which has been recently updated for increased compatibility across a multitude of vaporizers, the Dynavap M included.
