Vapor Quality

It goes without saying that both units put out high-quality vapor when it comes to a showdown between the Arizer Solo 2 vs Arizer Go. Though the ArGo is no slouch at all, the Solo 2 bests it in many ways. Heat-up time is quicker, the heater is more aggressive, draw resistance is lower, and the longer stems allow the vapor to cool down more before hitting your lungs.

From a pure flavor standpoint, the two units are very close and it is hard to tell much of a difference between the 2 thanks to the all-glass vapor paths in each unit.

However vapor production is ampler from the Solo 2, we can only speculate but the beefier battery probably allows the heater to be a bit more aggressive keeping the bowl at a constant temperature. Also as we noted the Solo 2 seems to have less of a draw resistance which also results in better cloud production. For a more robust vapor quality, you can also check out the Zeus Arc GTS Hub which has a gold chamber that can provide a much smoother draw.

Manufacturing Quality

Arizer never disappoints with the rugged construction for all of their devices, but the Solo 2 definitely takes the cake here. It’s no secret the original Solo was and still is a tank, able to take a good amount of abuse and thousands of sessions without hassle.

The Solo 2 just improves on it and retains the same ultra-reliable reputation. Arizer made a wise choice with not re-designing a proven concept but instead doing it even better.

The ArGo still has decent manufacturing quality, but the overall feel and finish of the ArGo feels notably weaker than the Solo 2. It’s some hard competition to beat though and the ArGo is still great with all that being said. If small chambers don’t do you good, then you’ll surely love the Utillian 722 especially because of its large herb holding capacity and convection heating chamber.

Ease Use Of Arizer Solo 2 Vs Arizer Argo Vaporizer

Ease of Use

Both of these are dead simple to use. Remove the glass stem, pack it with your herb, insert it into the device, turn it on, and choose your heat setting. That’s all there is to both of them. The user experience is very simple and works great on both.

Likewise for cleaning – since the chambers are self-contained in the stems, a simple cleaning solution soak does quick work of any accumulation in the stems. It’s a tie for this category since they’re both nearly identical in use. When thinking of ease of use, another vaporizer that comes to mind would be the LITL 1, mainly because of its simplicity for load, clean and use.

Portability

Obviously, the ArGo is a much more portable device than the Solo 2 and wins this round of the Arizer Solo 2 vs Arizer Go showdown. The hideaway ArGo glass tube and compact size solve all the problems the Air and Solo faced when it comes to portability, and does so in great fashion.

Even though the Solo 2 is a ‘portable’ vaporizer, I’d consider it only semi-portable. The Solo’s great for around the house use or for transport to another location, but certainly not for use in public.

If the name didn’t give it away, the ArGo was, well, made to be used on the go! Being one of the top dogs for a great performing, portable vaporizer, the ArGo is definitely a better pick if you’re out and about more often!

However, if you are more into portability, the Utillian 722 with its single-button operation is another option to look into.

Battery Life

With no contest at all, the Solo 2 wins by a landslide. The Solo 2’s battery life is absolutely top-notch, lasting for an absurd amount of power-on time. You’re looking at easily 14-18 full 10-minute sessions per charge, or around 2-3 hours of on time.

Even though the Solo 2 has no removable battery and tops up using a proprietary charger, I trust the Solo 2 to chug along for many years to come. If my 7-year-old Solo 1 from 2011 still gets over an hour of battery life per charge, then it’s safe to say the Solo 2 will continue that legacy.

The ArGo, on the other hand, has a convenient swappable 18650 battery yielding around 5-8 full sessions on a full charge. The ArGo battery takes about 3.5 hours to charge from flat until full though, while the Solo 2 takes a mere 90 minutes to do the same. I don’t think many vaporizers even come close to the battery life that the Solo 2 totes. The Crafty Plus vaporizer is also a good example of a great vaporizing device that maintains a long battery life without compromising quality.

Discreetness

If it wasn’t glaringly obvious between the Solo 2 vs ArGo, the Arizer Go is multitudes more discreet than the Solo 2 is. Being a fraction of the size, it’s able to fit comfortably in your hand while being practically invisible.

Evidently, the Solo 2 is too bulky and revealing to be considered stealthy and the ArGo wins by a long shot here. But if pushed come to shove I would say Arizer Go can be more easily concealed similar to the Flowermate Slick which is a great third option if you prefer discreetness moreover anything else.

Temperature Flexibility

Both units feature the same temperature range of 128-428°F (53.3 -220°C). Likewise, they both feature nice OLED displays with granular temperature adjustment, allowing you to dial in the exact heat setting you want your herb to cook at.

It is worth mentioning that Solo 2 has a quicker heat-up time, taking about a third of the time to heat up or in other words roughly 30 seconds, while the ArGo is closer to a minute and a half. This is why users opt for a unit like the Arizer Solo 2 for its temperature flexibility that is up to 220 degrees celsius. Therefore realistically you want to use the device somewhere between the 3rd notch and 5th notch.

SHOWDOWN

While they’re two different beasts with a close score after tallying it all up, I find myself reaching for the Solo 2 more often. The rugged design, incredible battery life, and overall feel make the Solo 2 really feel like a premium device. Though it’s only $20 less than the ArGo, the Solo 2 feels like you’re getting more bang for your buck.

In the end, it comes down to a lot of personal preference – if you need a device for more discreet and portable use, the ArGo wins hands down. For most home use with occasional travel and such, the Solo 2 wins handsomely. You couldn’t go wrong with either and with Arizers proven reputation; you’re guaranteed a solid unit either way.
