Ardent FX Review – Easy bake oven for adults.

Updated: January 8, 2024

We’ve seen a few niche yet effective dry herb infusion devices like the Levo oil infuser and MagicalButter machine. While we enjoyed the original Ardent Nova, it didn’t blow us away by any means. New and improved, our Ardent FX review will go over how this device works and if it’s worth the cash.

Check out the original Ardent Nova review to see what we thought of that device!

How it Works

They’ve taken all the complexity and mess out of making DIY dry herb edibles. The “M”mode button will cycle you through the 4 settings – A1, A2, Infuse, and Bake. This will set the foundation for how you use the Ardent FX.

  • A1 – Activate. This setting is the optimal temperature for decarboxylating fully.
  • A2 – Activate CBD. This setting is for CBD herbs as it has a different ideal decarb temperature.
  • Infuse – This is for infusing your butter or oil with the activated material. This is a lower temperature setting and not for decarboxylating.
  • Bake – Running at the highest temperature setting, this mode is used to bake treats, cook pasta, souvee meat, and others.

For the A1 and A2 settings, you can simply fill it with a flower (ground or not ground) and power it up. For infusing oil then you’ll put it right into the stainless steel inner cavity.

You can also cook directly in the unit on the bake setting and prepare just about anything you could in a usual crock pot. Of course, there is limited size and function by default, though with the cake mold you’re able to make edible baked goods right inside the device.

Manufacturing Quality

It’s chic. Simple, smooth, sleek, and easy. Build quality seems up to snuff and the assembly/disassembly is straightforward and effective.  In terms of longevity, it’ll take a while to get the full picture, however so far we can’t see many ways in which this device could go wrong.

It’s smell-proof when in operation and until you open it up, there’s no way you could tell that you’re cooking with dry herbs. Everything works as advertised though we’re definitely taken aback by the price of the add-on accessories, especially with how pricey the unit is to start with. The included carrying case however is appreciated.

Ease of Use

The simplicity and ease of use is where the Ardent FX really shines. For a newbie completely unfamiliar with the process of cooking with herbs, it’ll save a lot of headaches.

Easy to clean and operate as a whole, everything from setting it up to breaking it down takes minimal thinking, and cleaning is a breeze. They’ve definitely done a pretty good job on the design overall as it’s very simple to get up and going with no prior experience.

The all-in-one function of decarboxylating, infusing, and cooking is where the device really shines if you’re someone who really doesn’t have time to mess with multiple pots, sieves, and baking trays.

Performance

Terpene retention and cannabinoid activation is done very well. The custom settings for CBD and THC/ CBG is a very useful feature and the potency from the end product is stellar.

Can you get the same results with the stuff you already have at home? Absolutely. Is it nearly as easy? Not quite.

If you have the patience and time to decarboxylate, infuse, and cook all the goods separately then you’re better off saving the significant chunk of change.

However, if you’re a busy person looking for high-quality edibles and can’t be bothered with the associated mess or learning curve of cooking with dry herbs, then you’ll get a superior end result from the Ardent FX.

Ardent FX full kitOverall Experience

It’s pretty clear to us that the Ardent FX Decarboxylator is designed for people who want it done easily and with no frills. It takes all of the guesswork involved and streamlines the task into a push-button process.

The fact you can cook a nice little cake or meal inside the device is a nice bonus, however, that can also be done by simply adding infused oil/butter to any meal or drink you’re already going to have.

Still, it’s an exceedingly simple and effective unit that will definitely hit the right buttons for the right people. You’ll know right away if the unit is right for you and your lifestyle – otherwise, you can save a good chunk of change by using the good old tried & true methods of cooking edibles.
