When it was originally released in 2014, it blew everything else out of the water. We\u2019re here to find out if the same is still true today.<\/p>\n

What’s up everyone? This is Keagan for TorontoV TV. Let’s have a look at the Mighty vaporizer, one of the very first portable vaporizers to be released by Storz and Bickel, the makers of the famous and ever popular volcano vaporizer. First I’ll tell you what’s in the box, then we’re getting to how it works.
\nInside the package, you’ll find the Mighty vaporizer, one power adapter, one liquid pad, three spare screens, a cleaning brush, a herb mill, one filling aid, a set of spare seal rings, and if you order with us you can also choose to receive a free Zeus Bolt Grinder made of aircraft-grade aluminum.
\nThe first thing you’re going to want to do with your unit is sterilize it. To do that, press and hold the power button to turn the unit on, then use the up button to set the unit to its max temperature setting. Once you’ve done that continue pressing the power button every 45 seconds or so to keep the auto shut-off from engaging. Leave the unit run for about 15 to 20 minutes. This will get rid of all of the manufacturing oils that may have gotten inside of the unit as a result of putting it together. Once you’ve done that the unit is ready for your first use.
\nTo load your vaporizer you’re gonna need two things. The first thing is freshly ground botanical. To grind up your botanical we always suggest using the Zeus Bolt Grinder. It’s been perfectly calibrated to grind up your botanical to the perfect consistency. That means it’s fine enough that it can be properly vaporized inside of your unit but not so fine that it slips through the screens. The second thing you’re going to need to do is twist off the top piece to expose the heating chamber. Once you’ve opened up the heating chamber, take your botanical and fill up the heating chamber all the way to the top. If you don’t intend to fill the heating chamber all the way to the top, put as much as you’d like then use the aroma pad to fill the rest of the space inside of the heating chamber. Once you’re done take the top back on and twist it to lock it in place.
\nUsing the digital display you can set the Mighty\u2019s temperature anywhere between 40\u00b0C and 210\u00b0C. For best results, we suggest vaporizing dried botanical between 190\u00b0C and 210\u00b0C. For use of extracts, we suggest vaporizing at 210\u00b0C. Once the unit is loaded to use the Mighty vaporizer press and hold the power button to turn the unit on. Once the unit is on using the up and down arrows to set your desired temperature. When the said temperature is reached, the unit will give short double vibration. Next, swivel out the mouthpiece and take nice, long draws to enjoy your vapor. The unit has an auto shut-off which will engage after 60 seconds of the unit not being activated. So it may be necessary to press the power button every 45 seconds or so to keep the unit from turning itself off.
\nTo wrap this video up I’d like to tell you guys about some of the impressive features of the Mighty vaporizer that make it such an awesome unit. The first is that it’s got great battery life. Because it’s powered by two lithium ion batteries you can vaporize for a really long time without having to worry about recharging again. The second is that it’s extremely efficient. It uses convection and conduction heating simultaneously to maximize how efficiently it extracts vapor from your botanical so you get amazing vapor right from the very first draw. The last thing is the precise temperature control. Using Mighty\u2019s digital display you can set the temperature down to a degree so you can get vapor that perfectly matches your needs.
\nThis vaporizer is a great choice for kind of Sirs who want a unit that delivers top of the line vapor experience with the great battery life that they can use around the house.

How It Works<\/h3>\n

The Storz and Bickel Mighty is rather straightforward to use, benefitting most from medium-finely ground herb, packed down slightly in the chamber. After twisting off the cooling unit and filling the chamber, the Mighty dry herb vaporizer is nearly ready to go! After replacing the mouthpiece and holding down the power button to turn the unit on, the + and \u2013 buttons will allow you to adjust the temperature.<\/p>\n

Once the Mighty dry herb vaporizer gets up to speed after roughly 90 seconds, it\u2019s ready to use! Simply inhale and you\u2019re good to go! Each bowl will get roughly 10-15 solid draws before needing to be refilled. Using the included loading tool makes this process even easier, and the Mighty is definitely one of the most user-friendly vaporizers available on the market today.<\/p>\n

The Mighty is a 2nd generation vaporizer that has the ability to be turned into a 3rd generation, take into consideration that it does not come with the elements for that straight out the box. Though we like the wide range, we can\u2019t help but feel as though the maximum bounds are a bit too low for optimal use with concentrates. It would\u2019ve been nice to see a higher maximum setting or even a dedicated concentrates mode instead.<\/p>\n

The Mighty can be inefficient in fully extracting your herb due to the highest temperature not being high enough for many users. Vapor Quality<\/h3>\n

The real reason for the Storz and Bickel Mighty being so widely successful, the vapor quality is nothing short of stellar! The hybrid heating system is effective at extracting the most out of your material while giving a dense, powerful vapor.<\/p>\n

Cloud production is top notch, as is the smoothness, thanks to the clever cooling unit. There aren\u2019t many other portable units with smoother vapor which don\u2019t sacrifice much in other categories. Surprisingly, the plastics used in the mouthpiece assembly don\u2019t affect the flavor at all, leaving you with a terpene-rich taste.<\/p>\n

Pairing the Mighty vaporizer with a WPA (water pipe adapter) works phenomenally as well, letting you get giant, flavorful rips out of your favorite water piece. With concentrates, the Mighty performs just okay. The maximum temperature isn\u2019t quite the best for use with resins and waxes, unfortunately. It works alright in a pinch, however, a dedicated wax pen vaporizer<\/a> certainly gives much more effective results.<\/p>\n

The real question is how the Mighty compares to other top-tier units in 2020. In comparison to the competition, it still holds its own! Admittedly, some units have a faster heat-up time or better flavor, and the Mighty doesn\u2019t extract as fast as some powerful, pure convection vaporizers like the Utillian 621<\/a>. Manufacturing Quality<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s no secret the German manufacturer creates a consistently reliable product like they have with their reliable desktop units – the Volcano Hybrid<\/a>. With the industrial design looking closer to something you\u2019d see in a Black & Decker toolbox, you\u2019re left with the confidence that a few drops won\u2019t harm the Mighty too much.<\/p>\n

With that being said, the plastic isn\u2019t my favorite material, and it makes the Mighty feel \u2018cheaper\u2019 than it really is. It\u2019s a high-quality plastic, definitely, though it doesn\u2019t come close to the aluminum or steel construction of other devices.<\/p>\n

The Mighty, although cheaper than the Mighty+, comes with a lower quality build overall. Since vaporizers help you save money<\/a>, I definitely believe the Mighty+ is worth the extra money.<\/p>\n

S&B does include a strong accessories kit, setting you up with a charger, spare o-rings, replacement screens, liquid pad, filling tool, plastic grinder, dosing capsule, cleaning brush, and thorough instructional manual. Battery Life<\/h3>\n

With the 20% improved battery life on the 2018 model, you\u2019re able to squeeze 1-2 more sessions out of a full charge. This easily yields 8-10 sessions per charge with medium-high temperatures. This is really ideal for long excursions, camping trips, or frequent users who vaporize multiple times per day.<\/p>\n

On the flip side, the battery is non-removable,\u00a0and once the battery does inevitably die in a few years\u2019 time, you may be stuck with a fancy paperweight, or need to send it back to S&B for servicing. The battery does take quite a while to charge as well, needing around 2 hours to fully top up. There is pass-through charging, however, so you\u2019ll always have a backup plan if you do run out of juice in the middle of a session.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Portability<\/h3>\n

As the name may suggest, the Mighty is quite large compared to most units, and I wouldn\u2019t exactly consider it to be a pocket-friendly vaporizer. About the size of an \u2018XL\u2019 smartphone but more than twice as thick, the Mighty is best suited to being carried in a backpack or a separate carrying case such as the Zeus Armor Case<\/a> instead.<\/p>\n

Using the Mighty with dosing capsules does make it a lot easier to load when on the go, which is a welcome feature in itself. Still, the Mighty isn\u2019t the best of the bunch when it comes to portable practicality, and we\u2019d recommend something like the Zeus Arc GTS Hub<\/a> if you\u2019re trying to keep your footprint as small as possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ease of Use<\/h3>\n

As previously mentioned, the Mighty is certainly one of the easier dry herb vaporizers<\/a> to use and get the hang of. With no special draw technique involved, convoluted Bluetooth app, or other janky features, the Mighty is about as simple as they get. Paired with a set of Dosing capsules set (40 pack)<\/a> or a Mighty filling aid<\/a>, the Mighty can be loaded up for a fresh session faster than you can tuck in your shirt!<\/p>\n

The cooling unit, however, does require some more effort to thoroughly clean out and takes a bit more time than something with a glass vapor path like the Arizer Solo 2. Some cotton swabs dipped in isopropyl alcohol will make some quick work of build-up and residue, though it\u2019s a longer process than cleaning the majority of portable vaporizers. If you’re getting the Mighty you’ll likely need to get a Mighty vaporizer screen replacement<\/a> down the line as well.<\/p>\n

The Mighty was designed with medical users in mind, so if you may have fine motor skill or dexterity issues, you won\u2019t have much problem with operating it. It is however recommended to keep up with maintenance to ensure the Mighty is working, which may prove difficult to those with dexterity problems. For a relatively easier cleaning process, we recommend pairing the Mighty with a Zeus Purify cleaning kit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Mighty is certainly not the most discreet of the bunch. Appearing like some sort of industrial walkie-talkie more than anything else, the Mighty will catch a few more glances and stares than your average Flowermate.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Discreetness is one of the key features that users take into consideration while\u00a0vaporizing medical cannabis<\/a>. We\u2019d rank the Mighty on the lower end of the scale in terms of discretion, therefore, it\u2019s certainly not the best one to use if you\u2019re trying to be as covert as possible. An alternative unit that provides equally as good vapor quality but has a smaller, more discreet build is the Airvape Legacy Pro<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Design Drawback<\/h3>\n

One thing we can mention about the mighty that really doesn’t help its long-term durability is that we can find a\u00a0 gap between the heating chamber and the chassis as shown in the image above. This space risks particle build-up over time and can really start to accumulate smell, not to mention it is almost impossible to clean. In the image, we can also see the Utillian 723<\/a> which in comparison does not have this issue and has a magnetic top as opposed to a screw-on top.<\/p>\n

Nearly a half-decade down the line, the Mighty vaporizer without a doubt is still one of the best vaporizers to buy. Though it\u2019s not the undisputed champion anymore with units like the Zeus Arc GTS Hub<\/a>, Utillian 723<\/a>, and Arizer Solo 2 offering distinct advantages in their own ways, the Mighty is certainly still a fantastic choice with a proven track record. If you\u2019re a beginner looking to shell out for a lasting, high-quality vaporizer or a veteran enthusiast, the Mighty definitely won\u2019t disappoint.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
