Connoisseurs who are getting started in the world of vaporizing like to look for units that are not only easy to use, reliable and most of all, cheap. It seems risky to a new connoisseur who doesn\u2019t know any better to invest heavily in something they aren\u2019t sure they\u2019ll really like. This leads them to a world of some interesting products, like the one we\u2019ll be reviewing today, the Hebe Titan 2. This portable vaporizer ranks low,<\/a> is straight out of china and looks like it might have what it takes to satisfy a true connoisseur, but does it really? Let\u2019s take a closer look at it to find out!<\/div>\n

Editors Note<\/strong>: Let’s face it, the Titan 2 has not aged well, but many people still see it as a viable option as a starter vaporizer because of the price. If you are one of these people, we would encourage you to take a look at the Utillian 420 first. This unit almost defies what a budget vaporizer should be, offering users a digital display, glass mouthpiece and ceramic heating chamber, features normally reserved for intermediate units. For under $100, the 420 is a steal and will serve you much better than the Titan 2 ever will.<\/div>\n

How It Works<\/h3>\n
The Titan is a pretty easy unit to wrap your head around because of the digital display. The first thing you\u2019ll need to do is press the power button 5 times to turn the unit on, then use the up and down arrows on the unit to select your temperature. Once your temperature has been selected, press the power button for about 3 seconds and the unit will begin to heat up. When the unit has reached the selected temperature, tilt the mouth piece either forward or backward to open the heating chamber. Fill the chamber with your grounds botanical, close it, then take nice slow draws from the unit to enjoy your vapor. The temperature can also be adjusted up or down in the middle of your session to keep the experience perfect for your tastes!<\/div>\n

Temperature Flexibility<\/h3>\n
Via the LCD display, you can select any temperature between 93 degrees Celsius and 220 degrees Celsius. Using the up and down arrows, the temperature can be set down to the degree and the range is quite impressive for a portable of the Titan\u2019s size.<\/div>\n

Vapor Quality<\/h3>\n
The vapor quality from this unit leaves a bit to be desired. The vapor can be a warm and a bit irritating and that\u2019s because the heating chamber is quite close to the mouthpiece, something that PocketableTech also mentioned in his review of the Titan 2<\/a>. This can be improved upon slightly by using the silicone mouthpiece extender, but it\u2019s only a slight improvement. Another big issue with the vapor quality of this unit is that the vapor has a plastic taste to it that intensifies as the heat is increased. That\u2019s because the stainless steel tubing inside the mouthpiece doesn\u2019t extend fully through the mouthpiece, which gives the heat from the heating chamber a chance to pull some flavor from the plastic on its way to your mouth. This was disappointing as it seems like they could have rectified this issue pretty easily.<\/div>\n

Manufacturing Quality<\/h3>\n
The unit seems to have been made to be pretty cost effective. The outer shell is all plastic including the mouthpiece. There are some metal components like the heating chamber and part of the vapor pathway, but it isn\u2019t present all the way through the air pathway and the plastic that remains uncovered ends up causing issues with the unit\u2019s vapor quality. The unit does feel sturdy regardless, but the plastic and lack of warranty still doesn\u2019t inspire much confidence in the product.<\/div>\n

Battery Life<\/h3>\n
The battery life of this unit is pretty good. This unit will last a little over and hour, which will take you through about 4-6 sessions, depending on the length of your sessions. The unit also has a battery indicator on the LCD display that helps you keep track of how much battery power is left. The unit will also turn itself off after 60 seconds if the unit\u2019s heating chamber is off and no buttons are pressed to save battery power where it can.<\/div>\n

This category is one where the unit has a serious advantage because of its size. It\u2019s actually quite close to the size of a pen vaporizer which makes it pretty easy to carry around in your pocket. The battery life isn\u2019t perfect for portability, but it does let you have a few comfortable sessions on the go. If you don\u2019t carry with you or use any of the silicone mouthpiece covers or extenders the unit actually has a pretty sleek profile. The only downside is that the unit is a bit boxy, which does make it a bit awkward in your pocket, but not by much.<\/div>\n

Ease of Use<\/h3>\n
This unit is surprisingly easy to use and interacting with the unit incorporates some of logic you see in pen vaporizers. Turning it on and off is done with a certain number of button presses and then the same button is used to turn the heating element on and off. Adjusting the temperature is easy, not only because the temperature is displayed on the LCD display, but also because the up and down arrows keep the process simple. Even loading and unloading the unit is a simple matter. All in all, this was a really unit to use and didn\u2019t make us struggle to get to our session by any means.<\/div>\n

Discreetness<\/h3>\n
Black is always a great colour choice for a unit when it comes to trying to make a unit that\u2019s discreet. There is a bit of silver trim on the unit that could cause an issue, but it\u2019s minimal and likely wouldn\u2019t be much cause for concern. The unit can deliver nice thin vapor to keep the experience even more discreet and the size of the unit means it can easily fit in your hand or be quickly and easily put in your pocket for safekeeping. All in all, this unit is pretty stealthy, even while it\u2019s in use.<\/div>\n

Overall, this unit hits some impressive notes, and takes some strides towards being a good beginner unit, but it still falls short of a unit we\u2019d recommend purchasing. The vapor quality is still a good deal under the bar, the plastic is less than impressive, the battery life could really use some tweaking and the lack of a warranty worries us. When it comes to the world of vaporizing as a whole, you get what you pay for. It\u2019s better to invest the money in a decent unit like the Utillian 621<\/a> that is backed by a great North American warranty center and will serve you well for a while rather than take a financial shortcut.<\/div>\n
