Arizer<\/span><\/a> & <\/span>Utillian<\/span><\/a> devices have been compared in the past but nothing like the match-up we have this time around. Let’s take a closer look at the powerful Utillian 621<\/a>, a convection type vape vs the Slick Arizer Air Max<\/a>, a hybrid vaporizer using both <\/span>convection and conduction<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Build Quality<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

So starting off with the build quality, both devices have a lot to offer. The <\/span>Utillian 621<\/span><\/a> boasts a slick juice box style design, using a rugged anodized aluminum shell. The heating chamber uses regular aluminum, and the stem is made using borosilicate glass.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The <\/span>Arizer Air Max<\/span><\/a> also uses an all-aluminum body and heating chamber, as well as also featuring a glass stem and glass water pipe adapter. But with that said, the protruding glass stems run the risk of breaking, while the stem on the 620 is more protected by the body of the device. The workaround with the Air Max is using the provided carrying case, but that requires taking the stem out of the device and emptying whatever was left in your bowl.\u00a0 It seems a lot more comfortable throwing the Utillian 620 in a bag while commuting. So if you\u2019re looking to commute with your device, we\u2019d recommend the Utillian 620.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Vapor Quality<\/b><\/h2>\n

\"Arizer<\/p>\n

Both devices offer great vapor quality at a wide range of temperatures. The Utillian 620 has a temperature range spanning from 160 to 220 degrees celsius, while the Air Max has a wider range spanning from 40 degrees celsius to 220 degrees celsius. The Utillian 620 gets up to temp in about forty seconds, while the Air Max takes about one and a half minutes. We also like that the 620 starts heating up the second the device is turned on, as opposed to having to press the plus button to begin a heating cycle like is needed on the Air Max. If we turn the device on, we probably want it to heat up for easier use. Both devices can pump out serious clouds when using the highest temperature settings. The Utillian 620 takes advantage of its Convection Helix, located directly under the aluminum chamber. The metal helix heats up, and sends air through the spiral, preheating the air as it enters your bowl. This helps promote better convection heating, and even cooking of your herb. With that said, that pure Arizer taste is hard to beat, and has always been a key selling point of their products. So if you\u2019re somebody who is specifically seeking flavor, we\u2019d recommend going with the Air Max as it has that lower temperature floor.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ease of Use<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Air Max can be, at times, a little cumbersome to clean. Sometimes herb will get a little stuck in the bowl, which isn\u2019t always accessible without a cotton swab. The Utillian 620 wins points here for having a mouthpiece and full vapor path you can disassemble. This means declogging your air path and cleaning the convection helix is a breeze, and long-term use of the device serves to benefit from this. It also includes a handy little tool in the bottom of the unit, meaning we can get those hard-to-reach places in my bowl. So big points for the Utillian 620 there.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Utillian<\/p>\n

The menu system of the Air Max is something I\u2019ve complained about before, as I naturally prefer the more robust screen and five-button layout of the Solo 2. And honestly, the Utillian 620 beats the Air Max here as well, offering a much larger screen than the Air Max does. Surprising considering how much smaller the Utillian is. Now to be fair, the display of the Utillian 620 isn\u2019t particularly bright, and a bit difficult to read in brighter situations, but we still prefer the size alone compared to the screen on the Air Max. Both devices use a three-button layout, which is completely adequate for changing temperature and device settings. Although the <\/span>Arizer Solo 2<\/span><\/a> is the gold standard for Arizer with the nicer 5 button layout.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That being said, both devices are 2nd generation vaporizers, making the portability solid but not as easy to use as the 3rd Gen Vaporizer, the <\/span>Zeus Arc GTS<\/span><\/a> and its ability to prepare ArcPods beforehand. Battery Life<\/b><\/h2>\n

\"Arizer<\/p>\n

Now battery life is where the size of the Air Max works in its favor. It features a hefty 5750 mAh battery, which will last you around 2 and a half hours of continuous use, or about 3 and a half days of infrequent sessions. Not only does it win points for using USB-C, it also wins points for being replaceable. Simply unscrew the bottom of the device, and remove the battery. The Utillian features a less than hefty 2300 mAh battery, that will give you about an hour of continuous use, or about a day of infrequent sessions before you need a recharge. It also uses micro-usb, which leaves something to be desired. So as far as battery life is concerned, the Air Max has the advantage here.<\/span><\/p>\n

Discreetness<\/b><\/h2>\n

\"Utillian<\/p>\n

As far as discreteness is concerned, the Utillian 620 naturally has more of an advantage as a result of its smaller size. The Air Max, especially with the stem, is a lot harder to hide. Also, if you want to put the Air Max back into its carrying case, you need to remove the stem. This means you need to be in a place where you can dispose of your cooked herb, and if you are fresh off of a session, you may need to wait to reduce the smell of disposing of your cooked herb. The 620 is simply durable enough to go into a bag or purse, without the need to open the device up. So users looking for something discreet should go with the 620.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall, both devices provide different advantages for different preferences. If you want a device you can commute with that’s quick, simple, and has some serious cloud production, I\u2019d recommend the Utillian 620. The larger display, automatic startup, lower profile, and quick heating time make it a great hassle-free option for users who simply want a heavy-hitting device they can take around with them. If you\u2019re a user looking to maximize flavor and long-term usage without the need to take the device around with you, you\u2019ll appreciate the features of the Air Max. The wider range of temperatures is a plus for the Air Max but overall the win goes to the 620 due to portability and the amount of features that it boasts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
