How it Works<\/h3>\n

There\u2019s nothing complicated about how the Yocan Torch XL functions. Simply slap it in on top\u00a0 of your preferred rig, turn on the device, then puff away! The simplicity in the way the Yocan Torch XL works is in stark contrast to how traditional nail rigs work which required knowing the exact amount of time to heat up your nail to get the optimal temperature and flavor out of your concentrate.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Yocan Torch XL comes with a 2200mAh battery pre-installed so you won’t have to worry about sourcing a compatible battery. Also included in the kit is an Evolve Plus XL dual coil which should work well when paired with the powerful internal battery.<\/span><\/p>\n

Manufacturing Quality<\/h3>\n

While our test unit performed reliably without any hiccups, this isn’t something you\u2019d infer from the looks of the device.\u00a0 The finish on the battery and metal dome isn’t the best with an overall glossy coat that doesn’t effectively convey the strong and consistent performance that you\u2019d get from this device. For comparison, the <\/span>G-Pen Connect<\/span><\/a> uses a higher quality satin finish that just reeks of quality.<\/span><\/p>\n

We do appreciate Yocan including both a metal and glass dome in the kit as it provides a backup in the likely scenario where butter fingers are involved, the glass dome hits the floor, and breaks which would otherwise leave you hanging until you manage to purchase a replacement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Temperature Flexibility<\/h3>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Yocan does not deviate from the norm with this device as their familiar temperature presets come baked in the hardware of the Yocan Torch XL. Offering 3 presets at 3.2V (low), 3.7(medium), and 4.2(high), the Yocan Torch XL hits slightly higher temps compared to a similar device, the <\/span>G-Pen Connect<\/span><\/a>, and manages to do so more consistently and for longer periods thanks to its more powerful battery.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the 3 presets do an ok enough job of hitting the right spots or temps for most users, it would definitely be a step in the right direction if future iterations of the Yocan Torch XL would offer more settings to choose from.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vapor Quality<\/h3>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

The Yocan Torch XL kit comes with two domes that can be interchanged. The metal dome which nicely matches the finish of the battery also comes with a button for a carb cap up top and a glass dome which doesn’t have a carb cap button but does manage to bring out the subtler notes of your concentrate (you get to witness that lovely vapor filling up the dome as well).<\/span><\/p>\n

Vapor and flavor production was smooth and satisfying regardless of the dome. While the metal dome was a lot more convenient to use, the glass dome wins out just a bit in the flavor department despite having to do some extra work in clearing out the vapor.<\/span><\/p>\n

Battery Life<\/h3>\n

Most definitely the strongest suit of the Yocan Torch XL is its internal 2200mAh battery which manages to outlast most of the competition in terms of raw session time and consistent temperatures. Another feature that nets it more points is an inclusion of a Type-C USB charging port which should not only deliver faster charging times, but more stable and safer power delivery as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

The only thing missing from the Yocan Torch XL that we\u2019d like to see is an option for user-replaceable batteries which has yet to happen with e-nails or e-torches but hey, if we talk about it enough it just might happen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Portability<\/h3>\n

<\/span>
\nDesigned for use with home water rigs, you most likely won’t be using the Yocan Torch XL outside the house without a stable and comfy desk to support the entire setup. On the other hand, its relatively compact form factor makes it a breeze to pack and transport for occasions where you\u2019ll be taking it along to a friend’s house or on a trip.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the Yocan Torch XL lacks the ability to be used as a discrete wax vaporizer. If you think this feature might be useful for your needs, consider checking out the G Pen Connect<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The awkward and unergonomic two-pronged shape also makes it unwieldy for those who plan to use this thing with a compact water bubbler as there is literally no way to safely and comfortably hold the device without a stable and flat surface.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ease of Use<\/h3>\n

\nLike most Yocan devices, the Yocan Torch XL is both easy to use and maintain. A simple 5 clicks on the power button on top of the battery turns it on\/off while 3 clicks allow you to switch between the 3 available presets. Firing it up is as easy as just holding down the power button to start vaporizing.<\/span><\/p>\n

A dab tool comes included with the kit and unscrewing the coil cap is fool-proof so any novice vaper can easily dig into it and start vaping. The Type-C charging also makes it so that topping up the battery level is relatively quick so you\u2019re never really left hanging in between charges.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nWith the metal cap on, the aesthetics of the Yocan Torch XL can easily be likened to a fat tuning fork which should be ideal for those who\u2019d rather keep their vaping on the down-low. This definitely isn’t something that you\u2019d like to be caught using in public though unless you enjoy the inevitable attention it\u2019ll bring.<\/span><\/p>\n

Vapor production on the Yocan Torch XL can be a bit over the top, even when operating at its lowest temperature so that’s another thing to keep in mind if you\u2019re looking for something a bit more discreet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall Experience<\/h3>\n

\nThe Yocan Torch XL is a competitively priced addition to the ever-growing market of e-nails, wax pens, and vaporizers. We\u2019re glad it\u2019s here though as it does manage to up the ante thanks to its powerful battery that most devices should definitely try to live up to. While the overall finish of the device could definitely be improved, those seeking function over form should easily overlook this con when seeking out this reliable hard-hitter of an e-nail.<\/span><\/p>\n
