With new e-rigs coming out so frequently, some innovation is nice to see! The X-Max Qomo<\/a> is quite petite and aimed towards those who want the cheapest available option.<\/div>\n

While this device is labeled as an E-Rig it’s more like a wax pen. Both the atomizer and bubbler are just too small to be really able to output like an e-rig. That being said, if your looking for a well-performing unit at a similar price make sure to check out the Best Wax pens<\/a> and if you have a bit more cash to spend, check our Top E-rigs<\/a> ranking pages to get the most out of your wax, as sometimes the cheapest is not the best, especially if your wax is of higher quality.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

How to use<\/h2>\n

You can either pre-heat the XMAX Qomo atomizer or leave it cold to choose which style of dab experience you want. Either way, you\u2019ll want to load a rice-grain sized amount of material onto the dab tool built into the carb cap.<\/p>\n

Click the button twice to cycle between the three temperature settings and then click the unit once to initiate the heating cycle. It\u2019ll power up for 20 seconds which allows you to share it with a friend.<\/div><\/div>

Temperature Flexibility<\/h2>\n

You do only get three temperature settings to play with which is one too few for our liking.<\/p>\n

While it\u2019ll certainly do the trick and the temperature settings are well-chosen, we\u2019d prefer to have complete control so we can get the ideal experience with our selected material.<\/p>\n

4 settings, like is found on the Core Electric Dab Rig<\/a> would\u2019ve been fine and while the three different settings work, we find that\u2019s one of the weak points on this cheaper unit.<\/p>\n

Vapor Quality<\/h2>\n

Right away we\u2019re met with a ceramic atomizer which we can tell your right away isn\u2019t our favorite. It\u2019s a big step up over coils but any seasoned dab enthusiast will tell you right away that quartz – like on the Core E-rig, is much superior. Easier to clean, better flavor, and better thermal properties.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Those temperatures are chosen fairly well but the flavor and hit size are just not the best. Something like the Focus V Carta<\/a> is much more sophisticated although comes at a higher price.<\/p>\n

Manufacturing Quality<\/h2>\n

X-Max has put out a handful of decent devices with okay reliability behind them, and the Qomo was clearly designed to be an extremely cheap device. The carb cap with the built-in dab tool is ok, the body feels awkward, but the 18mm glass bubbler can be swapped out for another 18mm piece (with a male 18mm adapter) – nice seeing as you can put your own hydro tube on there.<\/p>\n

The unit as a whole feels ok at\u00a0vaporizing medical cannabis<\/a>. While it\u2019s nothing exceedingly special, you don\u2019t feel cheated out by cheap plastics or silly decals. Just don\u2019t expect it to feel as premium as an actual E-Rig like the\u00a0Focus V Carta 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Battery Life<\/h2>\n

The 1350mAh cell actually beats out the G Pen Roam in terms of capacity though it is essentially the same in all practical applications. Depending on your usage habits, you can expect around 10-20 sessions per full charge.<\/p>\n

Did somebody say USB-C? Yes! The Qomo has USB-C which is good,\u00a0 but seeing as that\u2019s the new standard and the way of the future, it’s noting special.<\/p>\n

For all intents and purposes, the battery life is decent and while it\u2019s not a removable cell and doesn\u2019t have insane battery life, it\u2019ll last through a party or backyard session.<\/p>\n

Portability<\/h2>\n

Given how small it is, we\u2019re a bit sad that the bubbler isn\u2019t spill-proof like found extra on the Utillian 5<\/a>. You\u2019ll have to empty out the water if you want to store it away securely and that glass is, unfortunately, a bit prone to drops and falls.<\/p>\n

Still, it\u2019ll fit in a large jacket pocket and as long as you don\u2019t mind topping it off with water occasionally. We do recommend getting a carrying case<\/a> for it however, as the glass has the potential to break when stored in the pocket.<\/p>\n

Ease of Use<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s an easy to load device, after you\u2019ve used it a couple of times, you\u2019ll have basically mastered it. Just makes sure not to overfill the water.<\/p>\n

Cleaning is a bit of a pain and those ceramic atomizers like to stain over time – something that quartz won\u2019t do. We recommend using isopropyl alcohol or a dedicated dab rig cleaner<\/a> after a few sessions to keep it all neat and tidy. Discreetness<\/h2>\n

Yes it\u2019s small, but you\u2019ll definitely get some looks if you use it in public.<\/p>\n

You won\u2019t be able to hide it in the pocket and while it\u2019s not as crazy as a torch and banger setup, it\u2019s not exactly a hit it outside a cafe device – unless you\u2019re comfortable with that.<\/p>\n

Overall Experience<\/h2>\n

The Qomo simply does not perform as an E-rig should. A quartz atomizer would likely bring the Qomo up a level but its size just doesn’t allow it to have the same performance.<\/p>\n

As it sits, it\u2019s an extremely budget e-rig option with some okay quality of life features. It won\u2019t be beating out the Core E-Rig<\/a> anytime soon.<\/p>\n

While there\u2019s room for improvement in terms of atomizer and temperature selection options, it\u2019s ok being that it’s such a cheap option, but you won’t get the same sessions as you would with a better unit like the Carta 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n
