How it Works<\/h3>\n

The Utillian 2 is a straightforward device that features one button operation. <\/span><\/p>\n

Similar to most concentrate vaporizers<\/a> or wax pens on the market, five clicks will turn it on, and 2 will change between the four voltage settings. <\/span><\/p>\n

The easy loading magnetic mouthpiece is simple to remove. Load a rice grain amount of your favourite wax or concentrate into the atomizer, and then press and hold the button to start heating the atomizer. <\/span><\/p>\n

It takes about ten seconds to heat up, then inhale and enjoy!<\/span><\/p>\n

Temperature Flexibility<\/h3>\n

The unit has 4 voltage settings that cover your bases in terms of extraction. <\/span><\/p>\n

The light on the device will change colour to indicate the temperature that you have selected. Green is 3.0V, Blue is 3.4V, Purple is 3.8V, and Red is 4.2V. <\/span><\/p>\n

At the price point, four temperatures covering that wide of a spread is nothing to scoff at. <\/span><\/p>\n

This allows you the flexibility to find the type of vapor you\u2019re looking for, and I found for all intents and purposes, this got the job done.<\/span> That being said, if efficiency is what you’re looking for, we recommend the Utillian 8<\/a> for wax which features a max temperature of 425 \u00baC. <\/div><\/div>

Vapor Quality<\/h3>\n

The vapor quality of the Utillian 2 for the price is quite good.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t get me wrong, we\u2019ve come to expect this from Utillian<\/a>, especially after the wax world started singing the <\/span>Utillian 5 (V4)<\/b><\/a>\u2019s praises. But for such a budget friendly device, it will get the job done.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The dual quartz coil is good for any flavor connoisseurs out there who love to get every last terpene out of their wax.<\/span><\/p>\n

The notes are crisp (what is this, wine?) and you get a good amount of cloud production. Utillian sells a ceramic donut separately that produces even more flavor at the cost of vapor productions if that\u2019s the route you want to go. <\/span><\/p>\n

I found with both atomizers the taste is great \u2013 of course, as you increase temperatures, you will produce more clouds and experience a little bit less flavor.\u00a0 On the other hand, a device like the Tronian Gammatron<\/a> offers a hybrid kanthal element on a quartz core which helps the atomizer produce amazing flavors since it allows for terpenes to be fully extracted.<\/span><\/p>\n

The glass mouthpiece is the icing on the cake and really hammers the flavor home. It is very obvious, just like the rest of the Utillian line, that a lot of thought was put into the vapor quality of this unit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Manufacturing Quality<\/h3>\n

I love a simple, elegant design, and the Utillian 2 does not disappoint. When you pick it up, you can tell time and effort were put into the machining of this product. The body is sturdy and holds up to a drop or two. <\/span><\/p>\n

The glass mouthpiece, as I mentioned before, does a great job of keeping the flavor of your concentrate. Every part of this wax pen serves its purpose well, and I love the light at the bottom of the device for checking your voltage setting while taking a draw.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Utillian 2 comes with a pretty standard kit, just the wax pen itself with included dual quartz coil atomizer, a wax loading\/cleaning tool, and a USB charger. <\/span><\/p>\n

It \u2018s one of the ones that attaches to the device itself, but I\u2019ve not found this to be any more difficult than using a microUSB cable. In fact, it\u2019s kind of nice not to take up one of my charging cables.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My favourite part of most small wax pens like this is the included carrying case that makes it a great travel buddy.<\/span> <\/div><\/div>

Battery Life<\/h3>\n

The Utillian 2 has a pretty standard battery, an internal 650mah battery that will last you about a day\u2019s worth of sessions, depending on usage of course.<\/p>\n

For all practical purposes, I found this to be adequate, especially in the price point. If you\u2019re looking for a heavy hitter, I would check out the Utillian 5, that has a 1050 mah battery that will last you at least 2 days. <\/div><\/div>

Portability<\/h3>\n

Unlike bigger wax pens on the market, or an E-Rig like the <\/span>Focus V Carta<\/b><\/a>,<\/span> the Utillian 2 is extremely portable. The carrying case, smaller than your phone, can easily slip into your pocket or bag for a night out. If the hard carrying case that comes with the kit isnt your style, you might want to consider picking up something like the Zeus Armor Case<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The USB charger attachment might be a little difficult to charge while on the go, unless you bring a backup battery like a <\/span>ZEUS Charge<\/b><\/a>.<\/span> That being said, I\u2019ve seen more and more places have USB outlets as well as wall chargers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Really the best feature in terms of portability is that carrying case. If you preload your U2 with wax it is a great buddy for a night out. You can also bring along a wax canister if you\u2019re planning on having multiple sessions in a night. <\/span><\/div><\/div>

Ease of Use<\/h3>\n

The Utillian 2 is simple to use and won\u2019t require much explaining if you pass it around at a party. One button operation is the king of the vaporizer world in general, and the 5-and-3 tap setup is being seen more and more \u2013 as we said before, 5 taps to turn on, 3 to change temperature, and a press and hold will begin heating. Super easy to explain to even your space cadet friend Martin. Oh, Martin.<\/span><\/p>\n

The magnetic mouthpiece is great for easy loading, plus the shallow atomizer helps even more as you don\u2019t have to stick your loading tool deep into the bucket to drop your concentrate in. I honestly found everything about this unit to be incredibly easy to figure out even without the use of the manual.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And cleaning is easy too. You really only have to worry about the atomizer, and a quick swab down with an alcohol covered q-tip will do the trick well, or a <\/span>ZEUS Grime Stick<\/b><\/a> if you\u2019re lazy like me, and it\u2019s super easy if you clean it out right after a session when the atomizer is still hot.
