How it Works<\/h3>\n

The Sticky Bricks definitely have some steps that need learning to use. To start, fill the bowl with anywhere between 0.1-0.25 grams of ground herb. Affix it back to the device before getting ready to hit it. Ignite your torch and point it about an inch from the intake while steadily drawing.<\/p>\n

If you like, throw the restrictor disc below the intake to lessen the chances of combustion. Though you might get less powerful hits, the possibility of combustion drops drastically!<\/p>\n

With any luck, you should be developing some vapor right away and get a nice powerful hit from it. The runt comes apart easily to stir the load. We recommend stirring every hit or every other hit for the best results.<\/p>\n

Temperature Flexibility<\/h3>\n

The temperature that you hit the herb depends entirely on you. Like driving a manual car, the draw speed and flame distance will dramatically change the hit and temperature. A slow draw with the flame closer to the intake will generate much higher temperatures, with the risk of combustion. A fast draw with a faraway flame will get wispier, lighter hits.<\/p>\n

You also have a carb hole to think about, however, we\u2019ve always just left it plugged with the included cork anyways.<\/p>\n

You can get all the way from no results or very light vapor to straight up combustion with the brick, so it\u2019s important to be careful at times!<\/p>\n

If you want a unit that is more like an automatic car and will produce consistent results than you are better off looking at a battery powered unit like the Utillian 723<\/a>. Although the reward of mastering a torch based system, like a manual vehicle, can deliver an exhilarating ride.<\/p>\n

Vapor Quality<\/h3>\n

The vapor from the Runt is straight up awesome! Great, pure flavor with the ability to clear a full chamber with one carefully drawn hit. You can get those massive lung busters or wispy flavor hits once you\u2019re able to dial in the perfect technique.<\/p>\n

The Sticky Brick lineup has some great vapor quality across the board and we absolutely enjoy using them.\u00a0We also love how smooth the vapor is due to the long glass vapor path, which also produces much less throat and lung irritation without removing that nice flavor. The draw restriction on the Runt is actually less than that of the OG and the Jr. as well which some may prefer. Once again, if you like the idea of glass stems but want something that drives more like an automatic, the Arizer Solo 2<\/a> may be worth checking out.\u00a0<\/div><\/div><\/span>

Manufacturing Quality<\/h3>\n

The Sticky Bricks are strange yet attractive pieces. The wood is skillfully cut and finished beautifully. The Runt also has an integrated stir stick holder and feels great in the hand.\u00a0 Smaller than the chunky OG and more substantial than the Jr. we found it has the nicest hand feeling too.<\/p>\n

One thing that may be bothersome is the pieces don\u2019t align perfectly due to a difference in design to the other Bricks. Those peculiar about aesthetics, this may prove to be a deal breaker. Definitely isn\u2019t for us though, however, some users might want to look for other devices such as the Davinci IQC<\/a> which is aesthetically pleasing.<\/p>\n

In the box is a nice kit consisting of the Runt itself, a stir stick, torch, screen and o-ring kit, restrictor disc, carb corks, and a basic manual. It has everything you\u2019ll need and we\u2019re satisfied with this.<\/p>\n

Portability<\/h3>\n

Though it\u2019s a noticeable size difference from the OG, the longer mouthpiece actually makes it bigger and more cumbersome to carry. Even in a bag it takes up quite a bit of real estate, and pocketability is definitely poor.<\/p>\n

We\u2019d recommend this around the house or bringing to a buddies house at most. If you\u2019re a madman (which I am), you can tuck this in a big jacket pocket for conspicuous use when out and about, but we don\u2019t recommend this. If you are interested in a vape that you can take with you but still delivers the big hits, check out the Zeus Arc GTS Hub<\/a>.<\/div><\/div>

\"Sticky<\/p>\n

Ease of Use<\/h3>\n

It took our gurus here at TVape a few days to really nail the technique and even longer to fully master it. Most people won\u2019t have too hard of a time achieving results on the first or second try, however, a lot of friends actually prefer I do the torching for them. With the restrictor disc in, it makes it very hard to combust and easier to get the draws that you want. If you have another one of the Bricks but not a restrictor disc, we highly recommend picking one up.<\/p>\n

A good analogy is that the brick lineup is like driving a manual car. The flame distance is the gas pedal, and the draw speed is the clutch. Too much of either will yield in poor results \u2013 no vapor or even worse, combustion. It’s a somewhat similar experience to the Firefly 2+<\/a> where we had difficulty taking the initial draws, however, once getting the technique right produced great results.<\/p>\n

Cleaning the bricks is a bit difficult. It\u2019s recommended to not use any isopropyl alcohol on the wood, and only on the glass pieces. A quick soak of the glass pieces in isopropyl alcohol does the trick while taking a cotton swab dunked in warm water will somewhat clean the chamber.<\/p>\n

The wood will eventually develop a layer of residue on it that\u2019s kind of impossible to fully clean, however. The screen also gets gummed up fairly quickly, so we also recommend torching that clean or soaking it in iso to get it back to normal.<\/p>\n

In the case of combustion, we recommend cleaning the brick immediately. Don\u2019t let the flavor and smell of combustion settle into the wood. The flavor may linger for a few sessions, however, after about 3 new bowls the taste is mostly gone. <\/div><\/div>

Discreetness<\/h3>\n

The bricks and Runt are pretty conspicuous and it\u2019s pretty bold using them in public. While we\u2019ve done this before, you\u2019ll definitely be raising more than a few eyebrows.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t even dream about using it in a place you shouldn\u2019t, it looks pretty sketchy and bound to get more than a few odd stares. Users that are looking for a device that is discreet and won’t be raising any eyebrows tend to prefer devices like the Davinci Miqro<\/a>. <\/div><\/div>

Overall Experience<\/h3>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

We love the Sticky Brick lineup and the Runt is a great choice! The least draw resistance, a nice feeling to it, and great vapor quality! At a pretty reasonable price for terrific build quality and a beautiful piece, it\u2019s a welcome addition to any collection.<\/p>\n

Perhaps not the best vaporizer for first timers, it takes quite a bit of technique to nail and definitely has a learning curve. And of course, if you are looking for a unit that you can easily use on the go you may want to check out a convection device like the Utillian 723<\/a> or an ultraportable vape like the Zeus Arc GTS Hub<\/a>.<\/p>\n
