Review: Genius Pipe
How it Works
To load it up, simply slide away from the top piece and fill the chamber up with dry herb. Pack it up well before resealing the top lid properly. Once you’re ready to go, inhale from the mouthpiece while applying a flame to the bowl. That’s all there is to it!
Once you’ve had a few hits and used up all your herb, slide off the top and empty out the charred remains.
We were pleasantly surprised by the Genius Pipe’s build quality! We expected something flimsy and okay at best, however, the build quality and feel is definitely solid. Feeling nice in the hand with a good weight and slipping comfortably in the pocket, the Genius Pipe really delivers on this front.
In the box are only a basic user manual, the device itself, a minimalist box and a small carrying pouch. We honestly expected a little more considering the cost, but the solid build quality leaves us relatively satisfied and confident.
Ease of Use
The Genius Pipe thankfully doesn’t need an astrophysicist to use it. Actually quite the opposite – you don’t really need to be smart to get the hang of it at all! This is designed to be simple to use and they did a great job in that aspect.
Cleaning is also quite simple too. Simply soak the three pieces in a cleaning solution for a good amount of time while gently agitating the solution occasionally. Give the pipe a wipe down and a quick rinse in water before drying it off and getting ready for the next session.
We were also pleasantly surprised by the performance of the pipe! It’s nothing earth-shattering or revolutionary, though it definitely ticked the right boxes for us. It definitely filtered ash and other particles quite well and it cooled down the smoke adequately.
With that being said, it doesn’t stand up fully to water filtration and the promise that it won’t cause you to cough is a bit of a reach. Cleaning it every couple of sessions are also required to keep it working adequately.
We really do enjoy the stealth factor and the entire unit does contain smell pretty well, which surprised us most. There is a bit of lingering odor emitted from the device after being used, but nowhere near traditional pipes.
Does it work? Certainly! Is it convenient? Most definitely. We really enjoyed how understated yet elegant it is, the tight build quality, and durable design, but we still find it hard to justify the cost on it.
For the price, you can get yourself a pretty high-quality bubbler or even a solid entry-level vaporizer. With that being said, plenty of people will definitely enjoy the Genius Pipe and if you’re dead set on having a portable pipe, it’s not too bad an investment!
